The FA18A and FA18C early both have their targeting pods on the left fuselage mount. The FA18C late does not have the option of attaching it on that mount, only the centerline mount. You should be able to select if you want the Lightening 2 pod on the fuselage mount or on the centerline. Or please add the ATFLIR for the F/A18.
Only ATFLIR and Nite Hawk can be fitted on ledft fuselage…
I gave the loadout card. Both the ATFLIR and LITENING can be mounted on the left cheek, the ATFLIR is the only approved by the navy for carrier operations. So F/A18s that are used from ground bases are authorized to mount the LITENING on the left cheek as well. The Premiuk F/A18C right now can only have the LITENING on the left cheek.
From DCS iirc. But I already found it
But F/A-18C (Late) it is USMC variant if we look at livery.
There is no difference between the navy and marine variant and should not be restricted due to the livery on the jet.
I mean, no reason to give Nite Hawk, but yes, possibility to attach on side must be. But, idk how prove it, cuz i found only one photo…
The A variant only used the night hawk. Sure, it’s kind of useless due to only having walleyes as guided weapons. They should still give the option. It is an acceptable way of mounting the targeting pod on the fa18 just like how they do on the premium FA18. Both the premium C and tech tree C should have the option of mounting it centerline or left cheek.
true plus the LITENING pod has rarely been mounted on conformal/fuselage hardpoint, every single time LITENING pod on Hornet photos it’s always on centerline
they do have conformal hardpoint but the fairing for it is differed from Nitehawk and ATFLIR, also bigger

plus it seems the conformal hardpoint option only available for Australian given this is the same jet from the first photo, and there’s no other operator that also used LITENING also having such conformal fairing attachment yet.
alright, perhaps it’s a later development which I assume some users complained that it uses centerline stores causes not able to equip for centerline drop tank/guided ordnance
but yeah either way the new fairing has to be modeled first
I think it was because during the last major conflicts the fa18 was in, they kind of had air dominance, so while they are dropping precision weapons they’d rather have a centerline drop tank while still having a targeting pod. Don’t need 2 AMRAAMs all the time, so take one off and then can carry guided weapons on the wing pylons.
