F/A-18E at 14.3?

So what I can gather from this discussion is that decompression AS ALWAYS is needed BADLY. Especially in the range from 12.7 to 14.3.

ahh yes if you ignore its competition its very consistent, what kinda logic is that??

“f18c late as 13.7 and f18e as 14.0 simple as that”

Ignore what competetion ? Speaking of logic, how many fox-3 missiles are in game, by your logic the PL-12, the R-77, the AAM-4, the Derby, the R-Darter, the Fakour-90, the AIM-54A, the AIM-54C etc aren’t competetion ??? I named the two that might be more consistent than the AIM-120. You take my words very out of context or you did not understand what I said.

Do you even play this game, 14.3 consists of 4 Fox3 missiles so i don’t know why your naming other missiles that can be found well bellow the br of the aim120c5 and of the Fox3s at top tier the aim120 is about tied with the pl12 for last place

Ha ha good one.

I can already imagine 12.7 folks like netz, F16AJ and M29’s going against mach 0.9 God throwing amraams left and right.
Yeah buddy, no.

So you did not understand what I said, I never specified the AIM-120-C5 variant. Let me make it more clear, the AIM-120 across all it’s variants is one of the most consistent missiles in the game. That interpretation that I exclusively mean the C5 is yours, not something I said, so you get worked up over something you interpreted wrong.

I even said, “the AIM-120s”.

why are you bringing up the aim120 at brs below 13.7 in the first place , the person you replied to is talking about A 14.3 aircraft what logic would there be to then bring up the aim120 as whole at lower brs, sure the missile is very reliable at lower brs but the general topic is about 14.3 .

“Do you even play the game ?” What missiles can the F-15C Golden Eagle carry ?
My point is that the AIM-120s, FOR ME, because it is MY opinion, is a reliable missile.

The aim120 at 14.3 where it is no longer considered consistent compared to other missiles at the BR

The people I tend to play with disagree but that is how it is. I can get kills with it. They generally never disappoint me when I use them.

Yeah The aim120 can def get kills at 14.3 but its still needs its nerf removed and the C-5 buffed for it to be completive with other missiles at the same br

Doesn’t the C5 have more range in real life compared to the range in WarThunder ? I never really looked into the later AIM-120 variants.

yeah but its modeled kinda weird in game rn and it seems the devs gave it the lowest possible estimation when it comes to motor performance

That and all missile wobble which cuts into range as well. From what I have seen the MICA and the R-77s are the worst culprits.

thats just a general thing with the game, may also be a missile follow cam thing since its kinda weird too sometimes

Supposedly it’s supposed to have more range but either way the most common issue is reported turn and weak motor performance compared to everything else. The C-5 gets a 10%~ motor nerf while the standard r77 gets a 3~ buff and the -1 gets a 10-15% motor buff since the actual weight of the fuel mass is publicly available and then by doing some calculations both r77’s have over preforming motors based on their thrust and time burning. They also made the C-5 its heaviest possible mass instead of of its usual mass like every other missile ingame, 6lbs lighter not much of a difference but would certainly help with its poor T/W

Could you post calculations on 77/77-1, please?

I mean the aim120(a,b,c) is not eable to use with the F/A-18 (14.0/.3) because you need 20k feet altitude and 20km of the target making them more hard to use and more to get the kill, i try to use and not getting any kill but the f-15 can shoot me down or a su30 too etc etc is not able to use in arb and need to be a lower br

Yeah I will when I get home. The fuel mass for the C-5 and R77 is publically available you can do the math to calculate the extra fuel the -1 carries
