They said the R-73’s IRCCM is superior to the 9M’s and that is 100% true, both in-game and real life. Ironically, the 9M still over performs in-game and the R-73 / Magic 2 style both heavily (and I mean HEAVILY) underperform. What we have is an adjustment made for gameplay balance purposes.
The F-18’s don’t need to be handheld by superior missiles when they’re armed with the AIM-120A. They get 10 of them…
The AGM-84E SLAM is more viable rn than the SLAM-ER variants. Sure, its an older missile but would be more balanced than the SLAM-ER and comparable to the Kh-38MT
Y’all really gonna keep arguing about ordnance additions in the thread right now? This is the most common issue with Gaijin is not adding certain munitions. Make a suggestion thread and talk about it there.
The AGM-84E is essentially a harpoon with an agm-65D seeker. It has a range in excess of 60nm i believe. So itd practically be a subsonic kh-38mt.
The AGM-84H/K has greater range, better seeker, and can even be directed to a new target after launch. Im not sure the warhead of the AGM-84E but the SLAM-ER has an 800lb warhead, along with being a little be faster than the AGM-84E.
Even if my info is totally wrong, i dont believe that it is a good idea to fight fire with a larger fire, so the 84E IMO would be better.
A solution to the 38MT dilemma should be better SPAA or even AI long range missiles, like the SA-6 and MIM-23 hawk or more advanced systems like the PAC-1 or BUK.
Sure the AGM-84E is worse than the 38MT, but it doesnt justify skipping it entirely. The AIM-7M was worse than the R-27ER, but it didnt justify the Americans gettiny ARHs before everyone else.
We wait, this isn’t the first plane to be given false weapons for balance and it wont be last. If the F18’s get a bad winrate then gaijin may change them or lower their BR.
