F/A-18 Hornet (Legacy): History, Performance & Discussion

The AGM-84E is essentially a harpoon with an agm-65D seeker. It has a range in excess of 60nm i believe. So itd practically be a subsonic kh-38mt.

The AGM-84H/K has greater range, better seeker, and can even be directed to a new target after launch. Im not sure the warhead of the AGM-84E but the SLAM-ER has an 800lb warhead, along with being a little be faster than the AGM-84E.

Even if my info is totally wrong, i dont believe that it is a good idea to fight fire with a larger fire, so the 84E IMO would be better.

A solution to the 38MT dilemma should be better SPAA or even AI long range missiles, like the SA-6 and MIM-23 hawk or more advanced systems like the PAC-1 or BUK.

Sure the AGM-84E is worse than the 38MT, but it doesnt justify skipping it entirely. The AIM-7M was worse than the R-27ER, but it didnt justify the Americans gettiny ARHs before everyone else.

-84E has 150km. It already bigger than side of any map.

All IR seekers in game have same lock stats±.

-84E also can

No.

800lb, okay, but what about explosive weight?

For game 84H/K it is literally just more beautiful (my opinion) and bigger warhead.

guys what can we do to give f18c 120c-5 because its historical acerate no f18c ever use aim120b so what we can do here bug report it or what

We wait, this isn’t the first plane to be given false weapons for balance and it wont be last. If the F18’s get a bad winrate then gaijin may change them or lower their BR.

The F-18C existed before the AMRAAM - it carried every variant that ever entered service…

isn’t f18c is 2005 or 2007 prediction and 120c-5 is 2001/2

i think the f18a+ is the one who carry 120b/a

All of them carried, starting from A+.
But in 2007… maybe not really

Did you not read what I said? The F-18C was in full production prior to the AIM-120A entering service.
F-18C - 1987
AIM-120A - 1991

Subsequently, the F-18C has used every version of the AMRAAM ever made.

ECP 583 was approved in 1999, while the F/A-18 used AMRAAM since 1993.

wow that’s great to know then its not as i thought it would be

to my knowledge the f18a Entered service in 1983 (replacing the F-4 Phantom and A-7 Corsair in many roles).

“And f18c Introduced in 1987 with upgrades phased in through the 1993 and on so they actually got mix of aim120a/b and 120c-1 to 3” so we have 1995 f18c? kinda
but it’s designated as f18c late so maybe early to mid 2000s ?
but Historical Loadouts the U.S. Navy used aim120c-5 on f18c by the late 1990s.

In my opinion, F/A-18C late around 2011 ~ 2015

AIM-120B replace with AIM-120C-5, and add AIM-120C-7 after decompression BR to 14.7

Yes, for example Russian planes. :D

Has anyone noticed that the F18 gun is mounted at the wrong Angle? It should be installed at +3°, but is now incorrectly pointed at 0°. On the hud, it is clear that the cannon is not aligned with the gun cross, but is misaligned with the 1000ft range cue.
And the default pilot head position is significantly lower, so the true FPM symbol is lower than the cockpit when you’re flying at “on speed”. What’s even more stupid is that at “on speed” and larger AOA the FPM symbol position will be significantly different from the true position.

i mean at the time being we just need 120c-5 now other missile can wait for newer versions like f15e with 120c-5 and asae rader same as f16c block 60 or f16v or somthing now we need f18c to get its actual competitive 14.0 loadout
