F-5C’s over-BR’d currently and people are arguing about its flares.
Its FM could get fully fixed to where it dogfights worse than a Mig-21SMT.
Its engines could get fixed [G91Y shares the same engines].
Then it’d be a worse T-2 with flares.

Therefore, if the F-1 was 10.3 with 4x 9Ps and the F-5C was 10.3 with 2x 9Es, the F-5C has much better flight performance. It only stayed at 10.3 because it was already garbage.
F-5C also have flares.
T-2 is comparable in flight performance, and it gets 2 vastly superior missiles and it has no flares.
That a flareless F-5C goes to 9.7 to match the BR of the T-2 is a very reasonable assumption
Still have no idea why people perpetrate this illusion. The T-2 and F-1 closely resemble the Jaguar in many ways, and use the same engines. And a Jaguar is no match for an F-5C in a dogfight.

Having used the F-1 and T-2 against the F-5C i can say even without fine turn control i get advantagous positions and kill the F-5C.
And if the F-5C doesn’t have flares one can with reasonable certinity do a 1 turn as the F-5C has to allways avoid any possibility of a successful launch as the F-5C, or most planes for that matter, cannot dodge a correctly launched 9P/9J (they are afterall almost undodgeable)
Edit: you know having also done the same with the Jaguar with flares at 10.3

You said that Italian F104 got cm only because manual stated so (assuming they were never used irl)
I said manual states they are compatible, never said anything about they did equipped or not.
then this is not a special situation like the others You mentioned

You basically pointed out various veichle that in Your mind were in a similar position to the F5C flares situation (basically having something that could be possible but it was never used.) and You used the Italian starfighters as examples despite they used flares irl. So Your statements doesn’t make any sense (also what let you thinking that I’m offended lol, You just writed something wrong and I wanted to correct You).
