I’m not sure about that, personally. It does baffle my mind that the prem F-2A and Viggen are at 13.0BR facing Fox-3 Hell when they themselves are lacking Fox-3s. I could see them being 12.7BR currently but no higher than that. The TT versions that have access to Fox-3s that aren’t actually bad are sensibly placed where they are, imho.
Agreed. It’s really a matter of finding a way to kneecapping Gaijin enough so that they’ll actually get off their hands and get it done.
I see your argument, but I still hold that PD radars shouldn’t be fighting those who don’t have PD radars.
Well. Premium Viggen DI has 4x AMRAAM and maybe F-2A should be 0.3 lower than some, though definetly should be higher than a lot of 12.7s and this is a compression issue at play for that aircraft, but something like the Su-27 with R-27ERs vs something like an FA2 or Viggen DI? Probably actually stands a fairly good chance.
Yeah. But what aircraft do you allow to face PD in an uptier, given that a hard barrier would just be bad?
That could include things with MTI like the Mig-23s, but if played right, is something like the F-4E actually all that disadvantaged against something with PD if they can force the fight up (bar the difference in missile performance) and many ground attackers like the Tonkas and F-111 have more than enough defensive capacity to survive and punch through something with PD firing SARH at them, let alone if they ever got ECM.
So whilst a few things probably could be moved away. I think there would still have to be a large overlap and some would simply have to face the music in an uptier of fighting something with PD without PD themselves. (Especailly when you consider something like the Viggen C has a PD radar at 11.3 and Im really hoping for a BAE Hawk 200 around 11.3 at some point in the future too)
Such overlaps have always happened. Props to jets. Subsonics to supersonics. No CMs vs CMs. All-aspect vs rear-aspect, etc etc. It will always be tricky to create seperation between fundemental technological leaps
Huh? No, it has RB-99s. Last I checked those aren’t Fox-3s? As for the prem F-2A it’s basically just a higher tiered F-16 with better missiles, but not 13.0BR worthy in the game’s current state imho.
Edit; I had to go in-game and double check myself on the RB-99s and they are indeed ARH. Seems I’ve been playing the aircraft wrong, after all. I’ve been running them like standard SARH, lol.
Fair argument. I’ll grant there’s a lot of gray area in all of this but it’s important to note not just a vehicle’s performance but also the armaments and any CM capabilities they have.
We could also wrap in how these garbage maps prevent vehicles from really being able to be utilized properly but depending on the direction of the argument that could considered a stretch or goalpost move. Either way, frankly speaking the differences in technology that aircraft have should be taken into at least moderate consideration in regard to BR placement and adjustment. Though first and foremost we need an extension of the BR limit - to 15 - and to cut the matchmaking spread down.
