How is it that a fighter jet with a malfunctioning radar ended up on sale? While this issue is being repaired, it should be removed from the store, and the aircraft’s owners should receive some compensation for this situation.
The AESA radar is one of the features that gives it a BR of 13.0, just like the AAM-3, but unfortunately, the AESA radar’s advantage is currently obsolete—we’re essentially blind in the air :/…
Hello? Gaijin? Maybe you’ll finally fix the radar on the F-2A ADTW? On a plane that costs ~40–80 euros…
By the way, if anyone thinks premium vehicles get special treatment when it comes to bug fixes—well, clearly they don’t. We pay as much for a single plane or tank as the estimated cost of GTA VI (a game with a $3 billion budget), yet we end up with a vehicle that doesn’t work properly…
I realize that premium vehicles are a way to support the developers, but when a player spends that much on just one plane or tank, common decency dictates it should be free of defects. Yet, the F-2A ADTW’s radar has been broken for months—and to top it off, the vehicle is even going on sale.
1- Target identification will be added in time.
2- ESA “stuttering” on soft-locked targets is a universal factor of all ESA radars, not unique to F-2A.
Report 5nVBSm9TytO3 that @tokerstar is a host of issues that impacts all radars I’ve used thus far.
Bug reports are also supposed to be one issue per report.
These issues while annoying do not make the radars unusable, just more difficult.
Flanker radars can’t change their default settings right now.
IFF just doesn’t work for all radars I’ve been using, if there wasn’t removal of friendlies from the radar scope, that one would be a huge issue.
@Wallet_Commando
Something between final dev server & live broke so hard that all radars have new issues.
I’m a huge fan of Japanese culture—so much so that I actually bought an aircraft from that country.
I’m disappointed with the radar’s performance. The aircraft is equipped with a near-top-tier radar, yet it frequently loses targets and performs very poorly overall.
You spend your own money on the game, only to end up with an aircraft that has these kinds of issues.
Those are not the main issues the F-2 is suffering from.
AESA radars in-game have the capability keep targets outside the scan zone updated… Except the F-2.
Currently it behaves like a mechanical radar with AESA scan speeds.
It’s very easy to test yourself, grab the F-2 and any other plane with ESA radar, go into test drive and start scanning one of the bot MiG-15s, once you have one scanned move the scan zone to the side so the bot isn’t inside it anymore.
Watch it immediately vanish on the F-2A’s radar but stay on the other aircraft’s radar (keep in mind the Su-30SM2 physically rotates the radar to get the massive gimbal so I wouldn’t recommend testing with this aircraft.)
Guys, I’m shocked that such a critical bug hasn’t been fixed for two whole months. I wanted to level up in Japan, so I dusted off my F-2A ADTW the other day, but what I saw completely put me off. The F-2 used to have a radar with surgical precision that could see almost through the ground—and today? We’re flying with targets that disappear, and at times we can’t see a thing—even the SU-33’s radar is sometimes more user-friendly and more effective in action…
Is there any other way to reach the devs since the bug reporting section isn’t working?..
is it me or it sometimes also lost detecting enemy planes in perfect condition?(ie. not notching)
i had 1 game where it failed to detect a plane in front of me coming directly. i can barely see it but the radar just not seeing it.
For just two months, the ~$40–80 fighter was deprived of one of its greatest advantages… ;)
Better late than never—it’s great that Snail remembered the F-2. Now it’s time for the F-104G/S, whose approved EEGS & IRST reports have been waiting over two years to be implemented in the game… ^^
