F-2A ADTW needs to be moved to 12.7 or gain access to FOX 3's

The F-2A ADTW is a good premium, but the lack of FOX 3s and the constant uptiers make it very hard to grind consistently. Yes, the AAM-4s are very good IR missiles, but in order to use them effectively, you must get close to the enemy first, but that almost never happens, especially in uptiers, as the enemy is constantly shooting FOX-3s at you, which forces you to play defensively, and with a lack of your own FOX-3s, it’s impossible to counterattack. I would like to see the F-2A ADTW moved to 12.7 or be given access to something like the PL-12

It is a top 5 13.0, and if it moves down, every single 12.7 and almost every 13.0 needs to go down in order to not make it an extremely OP premium.

Yes, I get that, but vs a BR that almost every other plane has, FOX 3 makes it a little difficult to perform well consistently. a better idea could be to move planes like the su-30 to 13.7 and since the F2A is at 13.0 im getting upteired to 13.3 almost every game and i have to play defensively pretty much the whole game from the FOX 3 spam

@MiGoon_Fox-3

No because worse aircraft sit there.

F-15A shouldnt be 12.7 in the first place

Its japanese aircraft, it wont get access to PL-12.

Besides, any ARH would just push it to 13.7 where TT F-2A sits where it would be less special.

Also

I absolutely disagree.

(This was ARB)

Got it yesterday, im still stock crew and im aitting at 3.5 KD and 70% winrate. It absolutely is capable of grinding consistently, its just not braindead aircraft to play

okay yeah it might just be a skill issue but ive tried so many different ways to play it can you give any tips on how you play it i just find it hard to counter attack with no fox 3s since im always trying to defend against fox 3s

I personally play it as follows: I take 1:2 flares to chaff ratio, sideclimb behind my team to 8k at start of the game, then i turn in and gain as much speed as possible.

Radar gives you unprecedented situational awarness, use it to avoid furballs and getting jumped by more enemies. You wont be able to do it everytime, obviously, but more you do longer you stay alive = you get more kills.

You want to be as fast as possible to give your sparrows initial speed boost. More speed = less time to target = larger chance of hitting the enemy.

Focus enemies at your own alt, if there arent any, dive down and deliver pain.

Do not contest ARHs, its not a fight you can win. However you can just stay in notch till missile is defeated.

Most enemies just send single ARH your way and dont bother to secure the kill, once you notch it you jump them.

If someone focuses just sit in notch till merge, F-2 has insane FM so if they merge they usually die.

If enemy is closing in, im talking like 4-5km, start preflaring in case they fire IR towards you.

Learn to differentiate between radar supported ARH launch and R-27ER launch, it will save your life.

Do not underestimate straight up anime bullshit R-77 can pull at close range, flat spinning enemy can still hit 180° launch under some conditions.

PL-12 sucks, giving the F-2 Fox-3s would mean increase in br, which is bad.

  1. It won’t be “unique” anymore
  2. it would go from one of the best at its br to mid. The F-2A at 13.7 is quite mid and the lack of HMD is a big hassle to work around there while at 13.0 it’s much easier

it is one of the best 13.0 aircraft in the game
moving it down to 12.7 would mean it gets to be an absolute bully just like the Su-30s are

AAM-3s have absurd range, abuse that in top-down shots and at alt.
side aspect/top-down is where they do best.
low countermeasure count enemies also are good victims (Su-33 for example)

Another useful trick is TRK MEM + sidelobing.
