F-5 and F-15J Kai have pretty much the same radar and were tested in the same scan mode
@Code_649 think this is conclusive, only certain missiles have trouble with actually tracking, some have trouble with pitbull range, but most have no trouble connecting. think this sufficiently disproves your theory

the topic is the F-22, which includes stealth. the F-117 is meant to be stealthy, but a tiny ass pulse dopler radar such as the one inside the F-5 can detect it from 20 or more kilometers away if lined up properly.
the F-117’s stealth isn’t modeled, its faked. until we get proper RCS simulation and dynamic RCS, we can’t really feature anything with proper low-observability tech even if its just reduced-observability.
the handful of planes we have in the game that are designed with low-observability in mind just straight up don’t have that modeled, you can imagine the disaster that would be the F-22, F-35, Su-57, and that one thick chinese thing

also its pretty well understood that detection range for F117 is only based on maximum radar range
a good example with some testing is here
so unless this system changes, you should expect even lower detection ranges for F22 because its known to have significantly lower RCS than F117
based on the fact i was firing derbies from it, which was stated in the message containing missile tests, you should be able to deduce which one as only one example exists

Nothing is invisible to radar if you focused on the object hard enough. You don’t have to worry about dropping radar in visualize range combat as that’s not how stealth works.
Stealth works by making it harder to detect you but once locked on its not very useful there are also other ways of spotting stealth vehicles. This is why USA never built a stealth aircraft carrier though they did extensive research into the concept (special radar can pick up the bow waves / wake funny enough you would also need to make all the other ships stealth and you would be seen from space let alone your aircraft including your awacs)
There is also a push to improve optical systems so in theory you could track and find stealth aircraft using that method then use the information to lock your radar. The way to improve a stealth aircraft is range as there is more air in the way with more sky to search.
Most issues with stealth in game is connected to the fact its not simulated right at this time as its complex and we don’t have many stealth aircraft in game that would benefit. When 5th gen is added Gaijin will likely do the rework. This would also need a rework with radar and environment as the environment like clouds would diminish a radars effectiveness a little.
Also is the thick Chinese thing your talking about the J-35 or J-20?

she is the biggest active stealth fighter out there though B2 might have been tested as a missile truck and its replacement is built to handle that job without issue.
Though the J-50 especially the J-36 is very large.

How good is the Raptor going to be in ground battles? YF-22 wont have much of a job in that mode but will the Raptor be able to hunt tanks effectively?
