itd be way more than a year or 2 until f22 comes out
Jesus dont respond to things from august
And LOUD
There were inlet for everything, not just Su-57
They didn’t exist before
The Su-57 model is not the right mix of prototype and serial. It’s probably the same with the J-20
This may have already been discussed here or in another thread, but just quickly…
By projecting out the aircraft we currently get at rank 8, BR 13.0, and generational improvements/increases in performance, what BR/rank do you think would honestly be the max for current aircraft in existence?
The OP suggests an F-22 would be rank 12 and BR 15.7, I’m kinda thinking ranks won’t go past rank 10 though. We could still get slight increases in performance with rank 8, before moving on to current 4th (with whatever "plusses go in there) gen stuff in rank 9 like Rafales, Eurofighters, SU-35s etc. and eventually going to 5th gen at rank 10. Since 6th gen hasn’t had any functional aircraft unveiled yet, I think it’s safe to say that won’t be in WT for a decade or two and we can just ignore it at this time.
The F-35 Lightning II would most likely come out first
xD
Oh yeah, the massive IRST bulge and cockpit strut certainly contribute this cutting edge stealth.
Stop trying to compare these two aircraft RCS, USAF themselves have stated the F-35 exceeds the F-22s stealth performance.
Su-57 will have a reduced RCS, but not remotely close to true stealth aircraft such as the J-20, F-22, and F-35.
It meets the VLO standard, maybe not the same as F-35 but radar range is sufficiently reduced to make it a threat. Certainly, the IR sensors will be detecting enemy vehicles before the RF ones in such a case.
Did you come up with this yourself?
Cockpit strut shouldn’t make the radar signature larger if properly designed.
It sounds counter productive, but usually the cockpit glass is made radar reflective instead of transparent to radar. Radar reflection of the cockpit can be controlled to bounce in a certain direction, but controlling the bounce of radar waves from the inside of the cockpit is much more difficult.
IRST ball has near infinite sides and will always present a 90° angle when it is visible, so that will be detrimental.
The material on the back is coated with thick RAM, shouldn’t be concerning
I doubt we see stealth aircraft in war thunder, but it would be interesting.
I am not certain RAM can completely make up for radar reflective geometry.
In any case, I’d like to discuss the measurements of RCS previously mentioned here. Using m² as the unit of RCS size/reflection is rather misleading as an absolute measurement.
It turns out m² isn’t telling you of all the data. It is better to use dBSM, a unit that measures volume of the radar return over a given unit measurement (square meter). Decibels per square meter is both a superior unit of RCS, and likely also the unit that is discussed by engineers and those privy to classified docs.
It may be that the F-117 is actually “less loud” relative to the F-22 and F-35, but it’s “less loud” over a larger area. F-22 and F-35 might be akin to a mosquito, small but loud when close, while the F-117 is more like a subwoofer at very very low volume; large but not as loud.
even with RAM it will be a really big issue, as while RAM reduces radar reflections, it will not remove them (think of it like the color black, you can still see it, but its harder to see in the dark), while the angles will reflect the beams away from the emitting aircraft, the IRST will still increase its RCS by a lot due to the sphere always reflecting something back at an emitting aircraft, not to mention unless they grate the intakes the compressors say “lol no” to stealth, same reason stealth props/helicopters dont exist
a lot of people said the same about super sonic jets and missiles, but here we are, we are almost 100% seeing stealth jets of some form simply due to how this game works
Only way it would be visible to aircraft is through IRST modules, which are far and few between on most aircraft in game.
no, the cover itself is round thus causing massive radar reflection, its why the electro-optical system on the f35 has angular glass, round shape do not work well with radar stealth at all
The geometric dimensions of the IRST are very small. And the designers took this step consciously.Obviously, the contribution to the increase in RCS is very small. Once IRST left such a design
