İn terms of cooling it suppose to be same i believe, P5’s cooling system should suppose to be better.
As far as i know its called smokeless motor, might be wrong tho.

found this AIM 9P-4 being tested can’t see a smoke trail but we look deeper
On those pictures İts not clear whether motor burned out or is still on.
Need more information.

AIM-9P-4 no smoke like AIM-9M but flare resistance same AIM-9L ?
from what i have gathered yeah or very close to it
P4 has 9L seeker so it should have same resistance that 9L has, P5 on the other hand should have same resistance that 9M has cause it shares the same seeker with different cooling.
