F-16C-PoBIT/F-16V History, Performance & Discussin

Assuming it’s even added, it’s effectively the same as the PoBIT in that it brings nothing “new”. F-16 with AESA? We have it at home.

(Refer to the whole USA not getting F/A-18F discourse if you don’t believe me…)

It bring IRST, spherical RWR and MAW without having to sacrifice 2 missiles and possibly a better engine

PoBIT can use pods for IRST, MAW is included already (assuming pylons are equipped) and the GE-132 is a F-16E/F thing only. I’ll give you the spherical RWR though

Blk60s also get access to PIDS, which is compatible with HARM and other AGMs, considering MAWS is built-in, you may bring 6 Mavericks and extra CM at the same time.
While PoBIT has to choose between 6 Mavericks and PIDS+ pylons for MAWS/CM

The only notable differences would be the Block 60 having a built in IRST pod, built in MAWS, conformal fuel tanks, and potentially MICA as apparently it was considered at some point.

I hope it’s like the one in the picture, but being Gaijin he left it halfway or slacked

It’s literally just the map page but on the left display now. No differences, just now you can use the map screen on the left display. Either they have named it wrong in the files or they think the map display is HSD.

Underwing drop tanks > conformal, but that’s just me. F-16 with conformal tanks just looks… weird to me lol. I’ll give you that

Nuh uh to the MICA though 😅 unless gaijin already did the funny and gave an aircraft a “considered but not bought/used/going to use” weapon?

highly doubtful they would give MICA outside of Fr*nch tt, techical capability is enough for them to consider adding a weapon like they did with the KH38 for Japanese SU-30 but didnt add MICA to say Gripen C/E which im 90% certain its compatible.

it has the same compatibility as mica to F15

the plane has the wiring the missile needs, that is it, it has not been tested or anything

so what I’m hearing is the MICA is 100% compatibly with the f15’s

(totally not coping)

Does AN/ALR-69A retain PRF Handoff functionality still?
Older gen RWR ALR-56M on F-16 has this.

In accordance to Chinese sector dev blog,
ROCAF F-16V would possibly be added with ability to fire GBU-53/b

Besides CFT, would there be any difference or would it be a heavier F-16CM PoBIT?

afaik it could be a brand new Block70 which is similar to PoBIT, or Block20 with SABR.
Don’t think ROCAF actually has AIM120D inventory.

Engine. It uses the GE-129 (what’s in the USA F-16C Block 50). 72 uses PW-229, same as PoBIT (irrelevant to Taiwan, just thought I’d add it here)

Could have slightly worse flight performance tho

Don’t know if AN/ALR-69A is the standard RWR gear for Block70/72s, and those upgraded Block20 could be running on BAE AN/ALR-56M.

This argument can be used against them.

That argument is not needed with this one since it would make no sense for them to add another 14.3 F-16 without 120D (as if 120D is any better). So for balancing reason they would most likely give it 120D

Gaijin plz
This may apply to all modernized F-16s

Imagine flying with 16xGBU-53b/SPICE250
or 8xGBU-53b/SPICE250 + 2xAGM-88A/B/C
