F-16C-PoBIT/F-16V History, Performance & Discussin

icl its just worse than the C, it has a worse engine while not having any of the weigh reductions it should have from the aesa and the new engine, that is also worse than the block 50…

yeah but then how else can russia and eurocanard dominate air RB and Gnd RB

Sufa is going 13.7, looks like pobit is next but why not now?

PoBIT still has the small issue of having the AIM-120D.

It is much better compared to the AIM-120C-5 (yes, even if they share the same kinematic performance profile, but they don’t share the same guidance logic (I.e., no IOG drift) so while it wasn’t over BR’d like the J-15T was (at least, for now?) 14.3 might be the new “minimum” BR for anything carrying AIM-120D.

It’s just not comparable to f-15c ge which shares the same br, and despite the missile has marginally better guidance (debatable), the sheer amount of missile and countermeasure is not competitive at all, it’s not even good now and it will be worse in the future.

6 120D vs 8 to 10 (or even 12) other ARH missile is really not fair, any other enemy jet with more then 6 missile can shoot down all of your missile while still being able to shoot after. Even if you notch them, the enemy can just stop firing and come even closer and then fire the remaining. Either it needs to be moved to 14.0 or top tier needs to 15.7 or 16.3 so that jets like F-16CM are properly placed (With moving of top tier to 15.7 or 16.3, it would also decompress br range of 10.3 to 14.0)

I personally feel a bit too demanding and challenging to fly PoBIT in AirRB.
Killing a guy in PoBITgives me much sense of achievement tho.

6 ARH and no more IR can do neither offense or defence well concerning the current meta.

In the aspect of flight performance PoBIT isn’t fast or maneuverable enough like the Raf or EFT to maximize Pk of an ARH shot, notch or kinetically defeat ARH easily. And seldom gets an upper hand in a dogfight with these planes, or sometimes J-10C which is also 14.3

Gaijin really needs to reconsider the balancing of PoBIT

The F-15C GE will probably be put up to 14.7 sooner or later, so I agree in that regard it’s not comparable.

Not exactly debatable, you can launch at a target that’s basically notching you and it’ll still track perfectly vs the AIM-120C-5 that’ll still sort of track, but when it loses lock it’ll drift away too far to hit target after re acquiring

In a normal ARB match no one’s gonna shoot down your missiles unless it’s just you two left (and usually, any F-16 player is probably back to hangar by now). Yes I know in SB it’s a thing which is why the play style for <8 missile jets needs to shift to ratting.

The top BR won’t move that drastically. We know this. Every time it goes up .3 (ish) and no more. At best, the next top BR compression happens around F-15EX/Su-35 addition which might coincide with everyone getting next gen IIR/radar missiles. Only a guess, I don’t know really so don’t quote me.

You will not find any success in trying to play the PoBIT like a Eurofighter or Rafale. Your best kit is just the AIM-120D and maybe AIM-9M if you survive long enough to do top-down shots on people not paying attention to you.

Yes, countermeasure count isn’t ideal and not being able to equip PIDS+ (or whatever it’s called) with missiles is sad but the airframe itself is still very good. Yes you don’t have a lot of missiles, which means you have to be very selective at who you fire at and when.

I don’t even find it worth bringing an AIM-9M in the PoBIT. 6 ARH missiles is already cripplingly little, so I’m personally not going to sacrifice any of them for an IR missiles that might be useful once or twice every 10-20 games.

ive yet to see anyone proving this difference

Looks like Peru has chosen to purchase the F-16 Block 70 over the Gripen and Rafale.

Something I’ve posted in the main F-16 thread

From the latest datamines:

We’re getting the HSD MFD screen. Just got to get the weapons stores page now.

What is HSD ?

Basically a map screen with a bunch of extra information like some added radar and target symbology.

It should look like this. (Without the weapon stores page on the bottom as Gaijin hasn’t mentioned anything about such a page yet for the F-16’s.)

i think that it also shows rwr targets

Most likely yeah. Whether it will with Gaijin’s implementation we will have to wait and see.

ah, tactical display, interesting to see if they actually put some effort into it or will it be half done like they did with the Grippy. (not totally useless but cant even read any numbers without zooming fully into the MFD)

I assume the F-16E blk 60 will also be at 14.0 because it has the APG-80?
