F-16C-PoBIT/F-16V History, Performance & Discussin

Pretty sure that is only applicable to Israeli F-16. IIRC American F-16 cannot carry GBU-53 in station 6 and 4 (Inner most pylon)

Found this doc in that report for SUFA, it’s talking about Block 40/50 but not referring to USAF fleet specifically.
Don’t know if this can be a primary source for a new report.

Is this an RWR sensor? The glass bit kind of makes it seem more suited for MAWS.

@CalvinAz Hello there!
Now we have EGBU-24B certificated for inboard pylons of PoBIT, do you think that’s sign of any additional smart weapons on these pylons?

It’s a white strobe light.

Makes sense, ty.

it does not use F110-GE-129

all the ones in Taiwanese service still use F100-PW-200, they turned down the offer to upgrade the engines when they modernized their F16As to F16V standard

so should have significantly less thrust than PoBIT

You’re aware there’s 2 of them in Taiwanese service? One is refitted F-16A the other is newly built, in other words an actual F-16V

are you aware that none of the newly built ones have been delivered to Taiwan yet?

Gaijin will probably give them the upgraded engine, much like what they did with the Su-30SM2.

SM2 are planned to get Al-41F1S soon, but initial batches are still using Al-31FP.

I hope not though

I think giving the heaviest F16 in game the worst engine used would be funny while being historically accurate

and that “they could maybe start using this engine” thing gaijin did is insane, like I guess F15EX should come with -132 engines because they fit in it

Would newer engine help it in anyway?

yes

Bit confusing, but according to LM F-16V is the name applied to the older planes with the “Viper Upgrade”
Viper

Don’t know how they differentiate twin seat (B/D) planes with the Viper upgrade, from single seaters (A/C) though.

While, the new build ones are still being called F-16C/D Block 70/72. Equivalent brochure for Block 70/72 makes no mention of “F-16V” or “Viper”

And the US Govt. per Peru’s Block 70 acquisition:
Block70
https://www.dsca.mil/Press-Media/Major-Arms-Sales/Article-Display/Article/4304541/peru-f-16-aircraft

So in RoCAF’s case they will have F-16V Block 20, and F-16C/D Block 70
