I think you just don’t understand how massive the difference in flight performance between 3rd gen fighters and F-16A or any 4th gen is, across all speed regimes, and how is it important not only in dogfights.
Fox 1s and Fox 3s are very important, but flight performance is equally important if not more. In the end missiles never guarantee a kill, unlike guns.
How can you complain that it doesn’t have Fox 1s and then say that radar and RWR doesn’t matter.
While radar doesn’t matter that much if you have only Fox 2s, RWR always matters.
Any MiG-23 is absolutely outclassed by F-16A. You have to defeat 2 rather easy to defeat R-24Rs and then it’s a free kill for the F-16.
Then learn how to notch/defend? I don’t see where is the problem.
Let’s be real here. I agree with everything you said but R-24Rs are not on the easy side of SARH to defeat. They have strong IOG and I’ve had them track through notches because I was higher than the MiG-23 firing and it ignored chaff.
It’s much easier to defeat than AIM-120s, R-77-1s and MICAs. F-16A’s (Block 10) flight model is absolutely viable for 14.0 and it has a digital RWR, which is a standard in 13.7+ planes.
I have to assume you mean purely in the 16v16 enviroment that air RB exists in, and not in any sort of direct engagement, because the F-16 is physically incapable of losing that direct engagement.
The F-16A is on the very low end of 12.3, but with the current compression, I don’t think it should be lowered. But some 12.0 should go up, and the 11.7 mig-23s should go up to 12.0
