F-16 Fighting Falcon: History, Performance & Discussion

Sufa is currently lighter than the f16c lol.
Waiting for smin to get back from his honeymoon (congrats btw) so that I can get him to look at my bug report for the 16i being 1100kg underweight

@Smin1080p_WT can you tell me why this report wasn’t looked at? At least I would like to have a not a bug so that I can improve on the report

The F-15E was made by razbam iirc, the same people who made the Mirage 2000 the vehicle with the highest sustained turn rate in DCS - such a UFO that it is banned in most ACM dogfight servers.

I imagine they’d have their reserves about correctly modeling and aircraft that should beat the brakes off their beloved mirage…

Tbf they admitted that the Mirage 2000 was made based on given datapoints since there’s lack of primary STR charts for the Mirage 2000. It wasn’t until it was too late for them to do anything about the Mirage 2000’s when secondary sources started being available. The way they modeled the Mirage 2000 is vastly different than how they worked on the F-15E>

It doesn’t really make sense that an F-15E would be gapped by F-16C and F-15C though

It makes sense when you realize that DCS flight models do not have any kind of single unified standard and the accuracy of models heavily varies depending on the developer and when it was made.

Indeed, the 15e made by razbam (RIP) and the 16c by eagle dynamics themself

Razbam has the MiG-23ML on the chopped block as well, shouldn’t let them keep on cookin’.

Huge flaw in aircraft model, please check this out.

I wouldn’t call this a huge flaw, but worthwhile. The Su-27 series is beyond fixing without a total remodel by comparison.

i think i asked this before, but since some other stuff has passed, how much better does the F-16C feel now?

you can go 1.7mach around 7000m now and pull a little harder now.
but it still needs NCTR at this br I think.

Is the F110 GE-132 Block60 exclusive?

there was some US testbeds on other F-16C but for actual production aircraft using them, its only on the block 60

iirc the block60 is almost 10ton category, so the GE132 hardly improves the energy maneuverbility but only makes up for the additional weight?

the normal f16c blk 50 is a lot lighter, the block 60 is super heavy

It was a F-16C Block 30 to my knowledge.

I havent found another testbed with more advanced systems, unfortunately…

That’s a whole lot of thrust on a pretty light airframe

Its unfortunate that there werent any other upgrades to my knowledge. A pity it truly is.
