if you turn on your head for a moment you might realize that a F-15 without MRMLs wont be able to carry more than 8 missiles
how do you know they’re including mrml racks in that statement, and not the base f15ex capabilities, you don’t.
or its because that is what is used operationally…
if you want to play that game why does EFT get 8 amraams given we only have manufacturer statements for 6
because the F-15EX needs to use MRMLs to even carry 12 AMRAAMs in the first place
They include MRML , as far as I know, it is a actually airframe limitation. The hardpoint on the outside can only carry AIM-9s due to weight restrictions
Nah it just uses its own pocket dimension to store AMRAAMs till it needs them
no
In the configuration where they want it to carry 16 AMRAAMs, I know that
then how could it carry even more weight on 2 and 8 while keeping dual amraams on 1 and 9?
it absolutely is not a structural limitation
in diff carry 2 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 2 or 2 + 4 + 4 +4 + 2
?
we know for a fact that it is not a structural limitation given its other known loadouts
OK, engineers, it can carry 22 missiles
well
we do know it absolutely could in terms of weight…
Yes, but weight isn’t everything. the whole aircraft needs to be fitted out to be able to fire 22 missiles there are physical and software issues that need to be resolved.
When I say ‘structure’, I mean that the airframe as a whole is not prepared for 16 AIM-120s
thats not what structural means…
and you explicitly mentioned it being a weight restriction…
which is blatantly false
In the current public configuration, it’s not possible
Find me an F-15Ex flying with 16 AIM-120s
And that’s why Boeing is still carrying out tests and upgrades.
The F-15EX can carry as much shit as you can hang on the pylons, as could the F-15E. Doesn’t mean it could use any of it. It’s not a weight restriction. At all.
Trust me Bro , f-15Ex can carry 22 Missiles trust me
except that statement is blatantly false

tell me what do you think weighs more
1 MRML pylon with 2 amraams
or 1 droptank with 600 gallons (over 4000 lbs) of fuel
