and by this logic, the f18e should be 15.0 as well, quantity of missiles isnt enough to warrant something being top tier
the gripen has a much better fm and its radar is immensely better, so its really not too far off
The F-18E is the slowest top tier jet. Hands down. It is not comparible to the CGE, which can reach mach 2.
It’s fatter than an F-16.

the cge takes 5 business days to reach mach 2 and thats rarely happening in a regular match, also the gripen e is only worse than the f16a arguably
It is still way faster than mach 1. Mach 1.5 alone is a sizable advantage compared to mach 1.

i guess the nerf made it a bit worse than i remember, but regardless its a great fm for its br imo, ive had no trouble dogfighting anything i went up against with it

Maybe if its actually capable of mach 1.5. But no. The fm is bad enough that the quantity of missiles here doesn’t redeem it. Like how the quantity of missiles didn’t redeem the J-15T due to lack of cms. The F-15CGE has a functional airframe, and it is in combination with the missiles that makes them on par.
The J-16 falls into this as well. A good all rounder, fast airframe, sufficient cms with lots of missiles. 15.0 justified.
meanwhile an export of the 15ex is seen with 16 missiles but gaijin made up some reason that it cant take 16 120s simultaneously
i think we need a 15.3 br because we likely wont ever agree on this, the ge is better than a lot of 14.7s, but worse than most 15.0s, if we had 1 more step up in br then this wouldnt be an issue
On par with euro. worse fm for 50% more missiles. maybe worse than rafale and sm2. But again, AESA with 12 gps missiles is very competitive. Also infinite cms.
And yes, higher BR would make it easier to set the planes apart. But with the current 15.0 standards. The CGE is 15.0 worthy.

Quantity of missiles, again, are a quality on its own. It’s why flankers, which are boats compared to F-16s, are often objectively better.
the ge only became somewhat competitive recently bc of the 120 buffs, before that it was just insanely mid
euro detection is much further, it can detect things over 100km with regular tws non hdn mode
