F-15EX Dev Discussion Thread

F-35 can only carry 4 IIRC, I did hear they were upgrading it to 6, meanwhile F-22 carries 6 internally, so it is equal to F-22’s missile count internally

Should have lower acceleration then F-18 unless i am reading the graph wrong

That’s supersonic acceleration, not time to climb.

But you said acceleration would be best in the text that I have highlighted and not time to climb

Because 0 - 0.95 is what’s needed for 2nd+ sorties, simulator, & Nuclear Escalation to then start one’s time to altitude.

Current F35s carry 4 AMRAAMs. Block 4 will get the sidekick upgrade to carry 6. The F22 can carry 6 AMRAAMs in its center bay, with 2 Sidewinders in the side bays.

No, 6 AMRAAMS + 2 IR, IR in side bay (8 in total)

So it’d be equal then.
People only posted the F-35’s after all.

F-35A has lower TWR than F-16C-50 which is also lower than every other 5th gen

Yep, Upgraded F-35 would be able to carry 6 internally while having to carry 2 IR externally

F-35A has 5000 more KG of maximum fuel on board.

If you just… don’t bring maximum fuel, your base TWR is over 1.03, & at-speed TWR is probably going to be well over 1.1.
& considering stealth will warrant less afterburner time in general, it’s probably better to bring less fuel to use only for climbing & ooops gotta dogfight moments.

Is that with combat load or no

That’s with 4100kg of fuel & 4 - 6 missiles.

As with the last statement, you could probably get away with 3500kg or less of fuel in F-35A if your goal is full stealth, especially if Gaijin is intending to model dynamic RCS [which they seem to want to do].

the F-35 has a better radar than the Su-57 and significantly lower RCS, the side arrays of the Su-57 will be much weaker than the main radar and effectively useless against stealth fighters. It’s perfectly reasonable to say that the AESA Eurofighter should be more competitive against fifth gens than the Su-57.

It would get in a dogfight in ground RB if F-35 and enemy jet are out of missile. Dogfights are extremely common in ground RB and thats why I always use F-18C/E even if they are worse then F-16C and F-15E (in CAS), though F-16 is not a terrible dogfighter either.

you don’t know that

Block 2+ AIM-9X includes the AIM-9X-3, 4 and 5, those have RAM coating and are meant to be carried externally by the F-35, radar scattering simulation show that an F-35 with 2 external AIM-9X should have significantly lower RCS than a clean Su-57.

F35 radar has over 150 more transmit/receive modules and sensorfusion (this still doesn’t mean one is definitively better than the other though)

doesnt look much stealthy at all.

must be a other usual act of the usa air force

typical

I do, the Su-57 essentially has an early AESA with planar antenna TRMs and is smaller than the radar of the F-35 which uses the flared notch TRMs of which it also has more.
The radar of the Su-57 is comparable to the AESA radar of the Rafale though it is bigger the planar notches limit it’s bandwith which in turn limits its LPI capability and noise/ECM filtering which in turn reduced range.
Gaijin will ignore the advantages of the broadband radar of the F-35 just how they ignore the advantages of noise filtering of AESA over PESA radar but the size advantage is undeniable.
As I said the Su-57 struggle more against fifth gen fighters than the Eurofighter because the Eurofighter can at least use it’s full radar power while notching.
