4.5 gen aircraft are those with AESA (or PESA, depending on the tech, like in Russian Su-35) radar, advanced sensor fusion capabilities and compatibility with modern BVR missiles.
F-15C GE covers 2/3 at present (1,3) and should it receive its EPAWSS it can be considered a true 4.5
F-22 won’t be invisible in war thunder 🙂
don’t forget it will be getting a buff with its jamming pod being added. gaijin did confirm it would be coming. can’t remember if it was with radar or IR jamming.

even su30sm/f15C GE/F18E/F2/Rafale/Eft/ Gripen E/ are all 4.5th gen fighters
all of them lack their irl missiles.
If the F-15C GE gets jamming stuff you bet most other top tier planes/nations would get similar things.
So if you buff all the planes by the same amount the buffs cancel eachother out, leaving the worse plane still equally worse.

The only 4.5 gen jets USA has is the Super Hornet, F-16V (which they don’t really “own”, they have other blocks upgraded to that Block 70/72 standard) and of course, the F-15EX. You could say the GE is also this too (that’s kinda why they went through the whole upgrade), however in War Thunder it’ll simply be an F-15C with AESA lol. Anyways, those jets listed above are by far the very first jets that come to mind when thinking of 4.5 gen.
USSR has Su-30SM (it is barely 4.5 gen though, Su-35 if/when it comes will be a true 4.5 without a doubt). Speaking of, it does have all its missiles right now. The -SM2 would be a different story if it was implemented same as the current SM without everything it could have

@Smin1080p_WT I know it’s Sunday, but something about it? I don’t usually complain because I think it’s a skill issue and I don’t think the plane is bad at all, but it’s interesting that the plane has the capabilities it has, so… Can you say something about it?
also important to note that the EFT received a very much fictional missile loadout on dev, while this is actually a possible loadout that the air national guard was pursuing
I’m not talking about other nations, the F-15 Golden Eagle is acceptable as it is, but if it can be upgraded, all the better. The Eurofighter with six missiles was fine, but if it can carry eight, even better.
This is more ammo for this GE to get everything it needs, btw.
Eurofighter is technically capable of doing 14x BVRAAM (AIM-120B/C-5 and Meteor), but it’s pretty much never done operationally (cause missiles expensive, yo). In War Thunder it’s just more a thing to keep it “balanced” at 6 (now 8 apparently).
(If I’m not reading it wrong, as long as aircraft can technically carry something without it ever being used operationally, it can be added? Cause Malaysian Su-30 over there with Kh-38 is funny business)
