F-15CGE should get 12x AAMs via MRML racks

With the addition of the Eurofighter (AESA) and the J-10C, both of which are at 14.3, the F-15CGE is lacking in the missile count and flight performance areas as a 14.3 aircraft. The Eurofighter (AESA)s are getting their dual rack AIM-120s, and the J-10C is getting its centerline PL-12s. This puts both aircraft at a total of 8x ARHs and 2x IRs, 10x AAMs in total. Not to mention the Su-30SM and MKM, both of which have 12x ARHs and 2x IRs – 14x AAMs in total.

The F-15CGE, on the other hand, only has access to 8x AAMs in total, having to sacrifice each ARH to take an IR. On top of this the F-15CGE does not have the flight performance to keep up with the Eurofighter, Rafale, and J-10C.

There are two solutions to this issue:

  1. Move the F-15CGE down to 14.0
  2. Add MRML racks, giving it 12x AAMs

Here is the bug report that was made last patch when the F-15CGE was coming to the game. It has been accepted and is under review.

I’m of the opinion that the F-15CGE would do fine at 14.3 (or eventually even 14.7) with MRML racks since they would extend the time the F-15 can be effective in battle. Having more missiles will at the very least allow it to engage more in battle.

Side Note:
I already know people are going to say “but the F/A-18E has 12x ARH, 2x IR, 14x total AAMs.”

The F/A-18E is slow and struggles to employ its AIM-120s effectively outside 15-20km. The Eurofighters and J-10C can absolutely extend the range and lethality of their missiles due to their flight performance, meanwhile the Super (Mid) Hornet is too slow to do that. The F-15CGE can at the very least do similarly to other 14.3 platforms what the F/A-18E cannot.

Yet another US aircraft made Obsolete in 1 update by a Eurofighter, except this 1 was never good to begin with unlike the f15E.

nah for some reason they decided to give fake loadout to an already op jet it would have been fine with 6x amraams. now they also need to add fake loadout for F15C GE and now the F15EX will also eventually get this fake loadout (giving it 16x missiles) as it would make no sense to not give it mrml in the inner pylons if they already gave it to F15C GE. it all started with the su27sm/su30sm could have been avoided if they just added the su35 n made it realistic.

Heck, they don’t even need to give us the MML racks themselves, why not just give us the outboard pylons and slap two AIM-120s on them, that would bring the GE up to the exact same load as the EFs, 8 ARHses and 2 IR missiles.

Its crazy to me how much of a trainwreck the GE is just because gaijin refuses to give it any of the features that make it unique beyond the radar. (Which is not even unique since that radar could be on the base C as the V2)

Because only advanced eagles have outboard stations

The F-15CGE was already obsolete the worst 14.3 once it was added. The non-AESA Eurofighters could very easily contend with and beat it. The Rafale has been the absolute best top tier aircraft for an entire year. The Su-30SM has had 14x AAMs as well since it was added.

The F-15CGE doesn’t have the FM to account for its 8x AAM load. And it doesn’t have the missile count to account for its FM. Gaijin already rejected the FM bug report, so they should 100% give it more missiles.

Yep but we know how war thunder devs are so might as well play any other nations in top tier air at this point cause the devs don’t give a shit about US top tier

not true

note the existence of stations 1 and 9 (this is from 1986 updated manual)

they just arent used due to stability concerns

They aren’t wired and aren’t used so can be counted as non existing

Uhhh yes they are.

Otherwise they would not be able to run jamming pods or ARMs on them.

This was only testing. They caused too much instability and wasn’t implemented

“Wasn’t used” it was part of the aircraft and was functional in service F-15s, it was not used doctrinally as you already stated due to stability issues.

Once again, per gaijin’s own statements, such features can be added if the vehicle was “technically capable” the SU-30MKM is getting KH-38s currently when Malaysia never bought such, or the M1A2T is getting KE-W A2 when the US never sold such to Taiwan, there is no reason as to why the F-15s could not use these mounts as the feature was never deprecated on the airframe, it was just never used.

using other weapons on the same pylon does not mean its wired for a2a missiles.

It’s photo of pre serie one. Serial F-15 didn’t had it even wired IIRC. Only some structural provisions for bright future implemented in advanced eagles with new wing and FbW

oh

but it shouldnt matter anyways , they should give the F15C GE 2 more amraams cus eft also got 2 more amraams it never used. , i know this leads to more fake loads but f15 desperately needs it. or they shouldn’t have added 2 extra amraams to eft idk why they did that.

It should get MRML under inboard stations. It even was shown with them unlike EF or Su-27SM

Incorrect, that is a ALQ-184 on that wing which requires a MIL-STD-1760 standard interface to function and fun fact, the only requirement for a AIM-120 to be mounted is a LAU-128 mount, which can only function on a MIL-STD-1760 rated mount.

If it can take a ALQ-184 it can take a LAU-128 which means it can take a AIM-120, the only possible limiting factor could be weight but guess what, the ALQ-184 is almost a full 100kg heavier than a AIM-120.

i can use the same logic for eft n get it 2 more amraams do we do that on its inner pylons

also every copy and past AH-64E got LDIRCM blocks on dev

so yet another example of copy and past US vehicles getting non exported equipment and upgrades
