F-15C Golden Eagle should be able to hold more missiles

Heavier and on worse platforms

The AAM4 is on the best f15c kinematics wise

Compared to EFTs and F-15Es though, amraam kinda relies on speed for bvr.

I’ll edit my list for AAM4 though rq

almost identical range and drastically better pull

I hope the radar is good enough. The engine hasn’t been upgraded. The acceleration is really bad

It’s very confusing because websites mix it up a lot, but the F-15C 2040C and the Golden Eagle are two different program.

Golden Eagle:
A real, implemented upgrade program for existing F-15C fighters in U.S. Air Force service during ~2010 up to ~2015. Its purpose is to extend the life of the aging F-15C fleet and make it relevant alongside newer fighters like the F-22 and F-35.

  • APG-63(V)3 AESA radar
  • JHMCS
  • Link 16 datalink
  • Upgraded mission computer and cockpit displays
  • New electronic warfare suite(Brought from 2040C program, EPAWSS — only in some aircraft, not standard)
  • Talon Hate pod IRST + Advanced datalink coming with it for F-22/F-35 connectivity(brought from 2040C program, only present on a few Golden Eagles)
  • Structural refurbishments for airframe life extension

F-15C 2040C:
A Boeing proposal (around 2015) to keep the F-15C combat-viable until 2040. A sort of F-15C with EX feature.

  • Conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) as standard for extended range
  • Quad-pack missile racks (AMBER and MRML racks)
  • APG-63(V)3 AESA radar
  • EPAWSS as standard
  • Talon Hate pod IRST + Advanced datalink coming with it for F-22/F-35 connectivity(standard)
  • Completely updated cockpit

The USAF evaluated the concept but instead chose to:

  1. Retire many F-15C/Ds (due to age and structural fatigue), and
  2. Import 2040C features into F-15EX. Buy brand new F-15EX Eagle IIs airframes as replacements because the production line at Boeing only build that airframe now. There is no production chain still existing for F-15Cs airframe. F15C 2040C would have required to completely restart a production line of airframe for it.

Sadly, from what I found online and after asking a friend in the USAF, it seems like the Golden Eagle never received Amber or MRML, only the 2040C testbed had that which is the picture always used(And EX of course). The best we can hope for regarding the Golden Eagle in War Thunder is BOLS, EPAWSS and Talon Hate IRST, that’s it.

EDIT: It seems like wiring was indeed done inside the Golden Eagle wing pylons for MRML.

@ID_Heaven Tagging you since I think you’re the one who did the bug report. Big RIP pretty much. :(

Apparently, gaijin thinks that the things they plan to purchase are just models with no actual function.

Thanks.

And yeah, I’m almost certain the PDF that was used is pretty much the ANG wishlist for their inventory to secure funds, including CFT and MRML. So while 2040C would have MRML by default like the EX, it seems like big Airforce never actually gave the money for that for the GE. Hell, they barely gave the money for a few Talon Hate and EPAWSS upgrades, even though these are also part of the critical demands in that list.

See two posts above + PDF in question:
https://www.ang.af.mil/Portals/77/documents/ang_priorities_books/2018%20Mod%20Book.pdf

Another PDF also was used. Not just wishlist.

It’s written at the top of the page(in bold too):
Recommendation

Air Force(and Congress) have the last word when it comes to that even though the ANG really wanted it. The EX program siphoned a boat load of money away from any F-15C upgrades.

I cited the PDF in my report, and Gaijin responded to me as I said

Apparently gaijin is using double standards

That’s right. The KH38MT, whose very existence is questionable, and the Oprood T, which should be incapable of using certain munitions, are present. The SU-30SM equipped with the dubiously usable double pylon exists, but the F-15C equipped with the Amber Rack—which has photos but whose actual status is unknown—will not be implemented. Damn it.

Players fixated on one standard and those who tolerate double standards to weaken a nation are engaged in an ugly battle on the forums. Oh God, save us.

Looks like this thread kicked the anti-US nest.
I don’t think it would be catastrophic if 'murica gets MRML pylons, it would get twelve missiles with those, still less than the Su-30. But I guess other blufor mains start to get jealous over numbers.

Are you for real? you’ve been watching the changelogs and bug reports over the years?
They only use bug reports to do balance changes when it benefits them. They’ve nerfed vehicles time and time again without sources… and so they buffed others the same way.

I once told the anti-American folks here that if they saw the leaked F-15CGE, it’d be a disaster without Amber Rack or AMRAAMD. It turned out disastrous in a different sense lol

I’m against all of these things.

But the F-15C 2040C =/= F-15C Golden Eagle. If you can find proof big Air Force accepted to pay for MRML toward the F-15C Golden Eagle, good stuff. But after taking a step back and looking at this Golden Eagle matter again, it seems like Gaijin is right in saying the Golden Eagle never got the increased missile count.

Gaijin has big double standards but it doesn’t make the answer they gave incorrect either. All in all, a better AMRAAM for the Golden Eagle alongside BOLS, EPAWSS, and Talon IRST would already go a long way to make it 14.3 worthy without adding dubious MRML.
