I have a question, what is this F-15A anyway, since it’s from 1974, it shouldn’t have an AIM-7M/AIM-9M because those missiles are from 1983. They tried to make it something like a semi A C I don’t understand.
Gaijin often models newer versions of planes than when they first released for one reason or another. When the F-15A released it released along side the Su-27, and Gripen, and Gaijin wanted to give it weapons on par with its in game counterparts.
Plus, didn’t the very early ones not have any flares? If so, I don’t think it would be possible to balance it.
Loadouts are almost entirely a balancing decision so that it will fit at a specific BR.
I understand, but well, if they want, they could add the Early F-15C, well, it’s 1979, and then I would understand. But as for the F-15A, they could switch it to 12.7/3, and then it would even be historically accurate.
Overall, I would like a mechanic that does not limit the aircraft’s armament, so, for example, the modifications for the F-4E give a BR of 11.3 because it has AIM-9J and AIM-7E D2 missiles, but if I add AIM-9L/M and AIM-7F/M, it raises my BR to 12.3–12.7. Overall, it would be a matter of choosing which modifications you want to use at any given time.
Dynamic BRs have been a long requested feature, but given that balance is an absolute mess right now with every vehicle only having 1x BR, imagine what it would be like if vehicles even just had 2. Let alone a range.
The absolute most I could see them doing is having an “advanced weapon” toggle in the modification window that would limit certain weapons.
For example Tornado F3 “Advanced weapons” disabled (9Ls and Skyflash STs) would be at 12.0 but enabled (Aim-9M and Aim-120) would be at 13.0. But given they have added a late version of the aircraft specifically for that, I doubt it will happen.
So the next best ask is for a lower BR F-15A, but between its FM and the limitations it would have to have to be at a lower BR. its probably not worth it
It’s not bc it has CMs
F15a looks to be a mid 90s air national guard variant because cms
With 1980s weapons and wrong radar
@GeneralLee2000 do you know the specific variant of the American 15a in game?
exactly what it seems like, groups of planes in tight formations
not really useful in game because IIRC it still functions like a hard lock
yes
So far it should use AIM-120
I’ve written about it in topics like here.
But i’ve lost that there was an official suggestion , until i saw you talking about it and i did a search…
and yes
this one…with 30 voters from July.
My question is, why serious and good for the gam esuggestions like this are…somewhere hidden, that you won’t see unless you search ( and go to the bottom unless they are new) , but suggestions like bring the X experimental UFO (UAP in modern) have some thousands of votes…?
It’s a 1994 USANG F-15A
Couple things give it away. The radar is an AN/APG-63 PSP, which is the F-15C MSIP II radar (we don’t have a real MSIP II ingame, Gaijin mislabeled it) and is AMRAAM compatible, has RAM and SHOULD have TWS. First pic shows PSP on ingame, then PSP in documents. Then a FY1994 USANG report talking about integrating the new radar and computer. Second thing is that it ya know, has flares. The cockpit is wrong: Community Bug Reporting System but who knows when they fix it.

Never knew the f-15 could shoot the sparrow at multiple targets at once… kinda like the su-35 or mig-31
Well, I don’t know if that ability panned out. That’s referring to the AN/APG-70 there (it wasn’t named that yet) and this paper was written before development had finished. Those are planned abilities.
Damn so Russian planes are still the only ones with confirmed ability of multiple sarh launches against multiple targets at once. Ofc it doesn’t really matter since the f-15 will never get the good sparrow with datalink as well as iog, but it would’ve been an interesting thing take gaijin to model.
Makes me wonder if the f-14d could do this since its radar was based off the apg70 if I remember right and that plane gets the 7ps.
