MiG-25 has no guns and only R-60Ms and R-40s that can’t hit something pulling more than 4g.
It wouldn’t work in game.
The MiG-31 is a much better option - it’s got guns, a tiny bit of manueverability, better but still shit R-33s equivalent to Phoenixes, and R-73s.
SU27 is just SU27, like F14 is just F14. i must confess that F15A is weak, but US main may not need to cry that aloud, you can always get the best plane since F14 coming
This is why I’ve come to realise that the F-15 should’ve come instead of the F-16.
F-15 with AIM-7P would be a hell of a lot more equal to the MiG-29 with R-27R’s.
The ER’s are much more equal to the AIM-120C-5 even if it’s a SARH missile.
i have both the f15c and mig 29 smt. the mig 29 is simply better at different things than the f16. not to mention neutral dogfights barely happen at top tier
F15C? I suppose you wanted to say F16C, but anyways, dogfights happen at top tier, not as much as 8.7 - 9.7 but they happen, and if two pilots with the same skill get into a dogfight, one with the smt and the other with the f16c, there is no way that the smt can win.

thats not the reality of top tier though. most engagements are not neutral dogfights of same skill. the f16 absolutely loses the long to mid range fight, and even if a dogfight happens r73s pull crazily and are really hard to flare. sure, in a guns only engagement where both start on equal grounds the f16 will win the one on one by a long shot. but that wont happen in top tier because of third parties
and in this meta the su 27 will dominate harder than the f16, mig 29, or tomcat ever did

They are different. One is lacking X, the other is good at X but lacks Y. Same as F-86 and Mig-15 analogy. One has good roll rate, the other poor roll rate, but compensates with guns.
Check my stats if you will, I love both F-16C and Mig-29 equally and one is not better than the other.

When in real life it is not like that, they should be pretty close in flight capabilities, while the Mig 29 could pull more aoa, the F16 would be better in a continuous turn

All the hype for this thing and it’s a complete let down. This thing is going to get rocked against the su27 with it’s missles! No point of even researching the F15 if you have the F16C. Aim 7m is not acceptable for the F15, especially since the US got the worst version!
It’s ridiculous to want to use the F15A to fight against the SU27. The six-shot R27ER of the SU27 can allow the F15 to be shot down before it gets close, and the dogfighting potential that the R73 brings to the SU27 is unlimited. What’s more, the F15A’s wings in the test server As fragile as a piece of paper, I had to be gentler every time I pulled the lever, because I knew that as soon as this aircraft reached 10G, the wing would break in less than 2 seconds, while the SU27 could easily kill me under a sustained overload of 13G. When it comes to R27ER, some people will say AIM54. However, as long as you play enough top-level BRs, you will know how easy it is to avoid AIM54. You don’t even need to maneuver in a wide range. But what about R27ER? Top BR is as crazy as space weapons, but the Russians have had these missiles in the game for a year. Gaijin and the Russians must change their prejudices, otherwise, the top BR will soon become a hunting ground for SU27 and J11, which will be a disaster.

This is great. 9Ms having stronger IRCCM make them such a great threat against other jets, while having the highest energy potential of any other jet in War Thunder.
