GBU-39 doesn’t, but for whatever reason on dev it does (likely because it was a hotfix on live?). Idk about the GBU-53 not having a limit though.
It’s the same thing as the GBU-39
yes on live GBU-39 doesnt have a limit
but on dev it is nerfed through a M1.1 limit along with GBU-53 being added with the M1.1 limit
which is dumb because gaijin themselves implemented a bug report and removed the release limit a bit of a time ago
Currently, equipping BOL on the F-15CGE prevents chaff from being equipped in the Large CM slot. I have submitted a report about this issue. Please same issue

So is it true that the F15C misp II uses the apg70 radar? And if so how come it doesn’t have it in game?
Pretty sure it’s only the F-15E that does (in-game, anyway).
No real difference between the two besides lacking air to ground modes on the AN/APG-63(V)1 (iirc, unless gaijin took liberties with that too)
Msip 15Cs use either apg63, 70 or the 63v1, only the last ~40 Cs made got the 70s(if I remember correctly)and 63v1 was only put on selected aircraft ~ 2001. All 63s and 70s from A to Cs got VHISC CCs mid 90s.
63 has 9 LRUs, apg 70 - 8 LRUs and the 63v1 has 7 LRUs.
70 and the 63v1 have RGH PRF mode and highlight mode which the 63 doesn’t.
63v1 doesn’t have velocity search mode but it eventually got removed from all
An useful thing the 63 didnt have was the Hot/Cold symbology on the VSD, you could search normally and it would show you if its hot/cold and an idea of closure without needing to lock, soft lock or tws
The apg 70 has a bigger clutter free doppler search band(due to a bigger total bandwidth of the filters) than the 63. ~2400kt to ~1800kt. I think the 63v1 has the same doppler limits as the 70
And they all have got the 40N.M boresight mode which would be amazing to have along with the 73°gimbal limit
There are more smally differences between them especially with the VSD and modes setting that vary with OFPs(software updates). Essentially the difference between them are mode capabilities, frequency agility and sensitivity and ECCM capabilities.
Oh fs thanks for informing me about this
Having just spaded the F-15C GE i can confidently say that even with the 12 missiles this aircraft feels underwhelming to play against a player that knows what he’s doing at 14.7 and only redeeming thing is the fact that it can see downtiers which will domimate the lobby (not because the flight performance but due to sheer amount of missiles and clueless premium aircraft players) and shame that sometimes you have to resort to MCM in order to win the engagements because you don’t have the raw flight performance. I much prefer the MSIP with M-Scan radar over GE with Non meta AESA radar.
Also can’t really imagine how would SH and PooPit will perform if GE performs like this. I have them but spading them is the last thing in my bucket list at the moment…
Thing that kills Giggle for me is not flight performance, not limited AESA radar and not even the missiles that are almost useless at close range. It is the fact that you are an F-15 in the world where everyone has NCTR. People simply look at a target named F-15 and they know that this is pretty much a free kill because:
- US mains have incurable skill issue.
- Pretty much everything else is harder to kill.
When playing anything else I can get into position relatively unbothered, but with Giggle it is almost a guarantee that you will be notching a dozen missiles aimed directly at you from the start of the game
I gotta say after flying with F15E models Golden Eagle’s fm feels really underwhelming.
I can deal with anything at top tier thanks to combination of radar and missiles but flight performance hampers this beauty at certain scenarios a lot.
But then you get a downtier to 13.3 and suddenly you feel all-powerful. Jokes aside, with F-15EX and potentially just F-15E with AESA, problems with FM might go away. Problems with radar gimbal limits however… That’s something US aircrafts will have to cope with
Gimball limits shouldn’t be problem if Gaijin bothers to model actual AESA capabilities rather than modelling them as fast PD radars tbh.
Thats what im waiting tbh, an F15EX with AESA radar, K band RWR ,MAW system last but not at least 12 missiles at least.
What else do you want them to model without overcomplicating things?
they always will be, you can’t just look behind your shoulder like N035 can, or at least get something like Eurofighter AESA with 100 degrees
Yeah, whatever new mechanics they might introduce to AESA radars, the other nations will get as well so this will stay a disadvantage.
But it can be compensated with better missiles, flight performance, RCS and battlerating, so its not much of an issue to be adressed.
Making BVR more relevant and consistent, as well as nerfing McM meta would bring radars without insane gimbal limits back into the action, but right nowe you just have to cope and be better than your opponent
Thats because Gaijin is lazy company and cant even make PESA/AESA radars models properly.
Current radar modelling is trash dude they need to step up their games.
PESA/AESA radars acts like actual PD radars while mechanical ones acts like pre historical ones.
