F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

You turn downwards instead of a flat turn

Turn left/right then down or just straight down?

I found loitering around Mach 1.3-1.5 and just notching with the basic 90 degrees to be extremely reliable with F-15C. I might not get super cool 6-8 kill games like this, but i also don’t really die unless several guys focus me down specifically. At such speed F-15 doesn’t loose that much energy in a turn from my experience

what altitude do you go to?

Around 7-8 kilometers usually. High enough to reach solid top speed, but not to give away myself with contrails. If i see a lot of RWR contacts aimed directly at me - i usually turn backwards and looose some altitude to bleed enemy missiles aimed at me for easier notch and then get back to altitude. It makes you kinda useless early game, but i don’t think that AIM-120A is that great at early shots due to relatively poor kinematic performance compared to something like R-77-1 or PL-12.

how do you not get shot at before reaching a good speed, just luck?

I do get shot at, as I said I either turn back and do a loop, or, if I didn’t catch 69420 enemy missiles just notch to the side horizontally. F-15C doesn’t loose that much speed unless you pull super hard, even with 2 drop tanks strapped to it.

what’s with gaijin forcing you to pay kings ransom for an AIM-120?

Does F-15EX have better EW than Eurofighter and Rafale IRL?

Who knows?

Like, electronic warfare and radar are most often the most secret parts of the aircraft

Maybe. Besides the azimuth limit, maybe the radar is better, as the AN/APG-82(V)X is now GaN opearted, same as it’s peers.
EW suite could likely be on par with those of the EF and rafale

The built-in jammers are probably a bit better on account of the F-15EX being newer. However, both the eurofighter and rafale are meant to be getting new and improved ECM systems in the next few years.

The radar on the F-15EX, probably has better EW capabilities than CAPTOR-M, but not necessarily better than ECRS Mk.2

The Eurofighter has two Towed Radar Decoys built into the airframe, while the Rafale has to give up weapons pylons to carry TRDs, and fish is not clear if the F-15 carries them at all (It was proposed, but it is not confirmed. If the air force actually pursued the capability). TRDs are some of the most effective ECM systems in real life, so that will be an advantage for EFT.

EFT can also fire active radar decoys out of its flare dispensers. I’m not aware of the F-15 or the Rafale being able to do that.

Well, it was tested only on F-16.

The ALE-50 series of IR/RF towed decoys can be mounted to the F-15 via the ALQ-184(V)9 ECM pod. It’s not integrated into the F-15 by itself.

You have photo?

Oiled up Strike Eagle.

Even with no skin it’s super shiny. (Look at the AMRAAM)

F-15QA almost pulling a Cobra.

thats not a cobra

it actually dosent pull enough AoA for that
it is more like a low radius normal turn
