I feel like thats what gaijin was originally planning since the F-15E first came with the weaker engines
It would have given them a reason to make us grind a early/late
with the late including the improved engines and AESA among other things
But now if they give us another F-15E to grind with the only difference being the radar it feels incredibly underwhelming although the golden eagle is too…
However, now we can put the copium aside and accept that we will not get more than 12 missiles on the F-15EX.
They’re still a chance that we get either the GBU-39A/B, GBU-53/B or AGM-187A. And, or AIM-9X / AIM-120C-7+ with a Late F-15E.
I mean GBU 53 is already in the files so it’s definitely coming eventually.

No it did not
The extra wing pylons are only for the f15ex
They could be mounted to it due to a modern fly by wire
These pylons have been around since the F-15’s inception, but due to the fact that the aircraft was incredibly unstable with them, they were not used until the FbW
They was initially planned to mount ECM stations and test pre-serie F-15 had them, but tests showed that they cause many problems. Advanced eagles have new wings, FbW, pylon itself was redesigned so they can now use it.
