F-15 Eagle: History, Performance & Discussion

That is not the new cockpit.

It is now several upgrades out of date.

That is just the PAD, for use with the Sniper/Legion pod.

wait what, what’s epawss then

maybe they can add maws as a basis as “compatibility” as the other advanced eagles have them

Total overhaul of ECM suite. Adds in extra countermeasures (similar to F-15I placement)

The MAWS apertures physically are not there in the airframe. I really doubt it

Do the other advanced eagles get it?

No, but I think they get the increased CM count. They use ALQ-239 DEWS

oh brother, here’s hoping they add a Frankenstein f-15 advanced eagle to the us (secretly hoping to also get that for the su-35 to get 100+ cms instead of 84)

That kinda makes sense, as the f-15ex is highly unlikely to operate in places where maws is going to be useful. really is a shame

so just like any other F-15 in the US tech tree currently?

Nice graphic I found with some details on DEWS (good coverage). EPAWSS is just a straight upgrade over this

Yeah. It might get BOL though, which it would have a ton of (4 more AMRAAM rails on the wings for 1280 BOL)

since there’s sensors on the bottom, i would assume full spherical coverage?

Yep

The prototype F-15EXs had MAWS installed, that is already grounds for their inclusion, or a justification that the F-15EX can be easily modified with them. Either way, I think it should get MAWS when added.

Can you show a picture?

In fact, it’s possible that all US aircraft fly with MAWS covers (perhaps to prevent the sensors from burning out, or something else). Singaporean F-15s do the same.
