I was kinda curious why the F-15 didn’t get a option to take aim-7’s in place of the 2ed and 3ed external fuel tanks on the bottom of the pylons, I know it was capable of doing so from my research so far but I couldn’t find out if the F-15A and F-15J/C were specifically able to or not, I’d think it would help it keep up with the su-27 since it also has 10 pylons for air to air missiles.
Cause the manufacturer made those wet & bomb stations only.
So then did they just change it for latter variants?
They did not.
No F-15 allows for air to air weapons on the wet pylons.
F-15EX adds 2 pylons dry pylons for more A2A weapons.
