the Mig-29 has a great time against it without a digital RWR and a pretty bad radar
it only has to fight against Phenixes and IRCCM missiles + BOL afterall with the r60 and r27
the Mig-29 has a great time against it without a digital RWR and a pretty bad radar

it cannot fight rafales or eurofighters
it is 13.0
it doesn’t fight a single vehicle with either of these missiles
If you want to compare it to something, compare it to stuff it actually fights
At 13.0 they don’t face either the Rafale or Typhoon as those are 14.3 and 14.7 respectively
Though aircraft with Aim-7E-2 have to face Aim-54C+ so move the F14D up?
Aw, did someone preorder premium pack without ever playing ARB at that BR first?
Barely over 1 KD with premium sukhoi is funny but completly in line with OPs post
You realize the F-14D is a upgrade from all the previous F-14 versions right? So he is talking about a worse version of set plane
i pointed that out as well
he went silent after that tho

“Weak”.
Uhuh…
Your post contains zero “ragebait”.
That statement however is flat out wrong.
I’m saying the F-14D feels underarmed in-game, and I think it would make sense to give it the AIM-120, especially since the F-14D was a more advanced development than the F-14B and AMRAAM integration for it was planned, even if it never entered operational.
Yes, I know the tests never led to combat use, but that argument feels inconsistent when the game already includes vehicles like the Object 279, which was only a prototype, never entered regular service, and never fought in.
So if the game is willing to add prototype tanks like that, then why not give the F-14D the AIM-120 as well?
impossivel
becasue the F-14D isnt a prototype
which is subjectively wrong
it is one of the best armed 13.0 aircrafts in the game
You are right, the F-14D was not a prototype but it was a production aircraft, already wired for AIM-120 from the factory, with AMRAAM listed in its official documentation since 1985, and the missile was physically fired from an F-14 during tests.
The only reason it was never fielded was budget cuts, not technical limitations.
So if anything, that makes the case for AIM-120 on the F-14D stronger than most prototype vehicles already in the game.
so it isnt a service armament
and thus the F-14D will not recive it as a service aircraft
and ontop of that the F-14D will move up in BR if it got the AIM-120 and then you will have to fight against the R-77-1 and Aim-120D
I would not mind that at all.
They can move it to 13.3 or even 13.7 and give it AIM-120s.
I would honestly prefer that over keeping it at 13.0 with AIM-54C+, because right now it is already fighting much stronger aircraft anyway
It is aim54C will always be second to the AMRAAMs as the only thing it has against the AMRAAMs is warhead size and range than their aim7m vs +13.0 modern arh users
nobody forces you to use the aim54 and you can just as well use the aim7 plus the great radar it gets
No but I would like to be able to use the aim54c+ and rely on it but in the state it’s in it’s a meme missile and saying just use a even worse missile the aim7m witch at +13.0 is torture even with the apg71 radar both these missiles aren’t competitive enough and at times even make you useless to the team they should give aim7p-2 and aim120A to the f14D especially since these missiles should have a better compatible with the digital upgrade/apg71 that the f-14D received
Prototype shouldn’t be the only ones to have access to armaments that where planned/tested especially when it’s something like the f14D w/amraams that has more logic than some prototypes in game
