Do you guys really think the F-14D variant will be added in the near future to War Thunder? Many people think the F-14D could be added to the game soon because The Maverick Act was recently approved, repairing 3 F-14D Tomcats and making one airworthy for airshows, and because the Puma U-14 was confirmed to get added to the game, and that vehicle was on the same leak list as the F-14D. If you think it will be added, what BR do you think it may be and do you think it would be a premium, tech tree, squadron, or event vehicle?

It was leaked for the upcoming update as a premium.

Personally I think it will probably become 5th best 13.3 after the flankers and f-14a iriaf

The best-case scenario is for it to be implemented in Tree; the next-best option is for it to be implemented in both Tree and Premium; the worst-case scenario is for it to be implemented in Premium only.

I think it’ll be both tech tree and premium because no way the aim7P is locked behind a paywall for br’s lower then 14.0 also f14D with aim120 should be 13.3 while without should be 13.0

It’s no exaggeration to say I started this game just for the F-14, and the journey I’ve been on for several years chasing that F-14 might now be coming to an end in the worst possible way.

What air-to-air will the F14D have? Quick google search says that it has the exact same air-to-air loadout as the F14B, the only upgrade F14D has is better radar and avionics and cannot carry the aim120 because the software upgrade never occurs because the project got cancelled due to cost. The only F14 variant that has successful test-fire of aim120 is the F14A. Would this just be a premium F14B?
As for air-to-ground munitions, F14D has the same munitions as the F14B but it can also use GPS guided bombs, while F14B cannot.

We have the IRST, AIM-9M, PD (non-HDN), and AIM-54+. As for the AIM-54, it depends on Gaijin, but thanks to the AIM-9M and the high-performance radar, close-to-medium-range combat should become significantly easier.
F14B can also carry aim9m but just gaijin didt give it :/
So f14B and D are exact same plane aside from radar upgrade lmao
The F-14B currently in the game is kind of weird—or rather, sloppy. They really should have included both the F-14B(A+) and the F-14B(U). The F-14B in the game right now has the exterior of a B(A+), but it’s carrying B(U) bombs while the cockpit is that of a B(A+). Basically, it’s just a half-assed job.

You should definitely try buying a few F-14 books that catch your eye at a bookstore or on Amazon—they often contain photos and information you won’t find online.

When Russia and China have Su-30s a full BR lower than tech tree Su-30s, with R-77s, AIM 120s, R-73s, and Pythons, while the F-14D gets… the worst Fox 3.
I think 14D will be a lazy copy with new radar and irst.
The leak had it as premium, so that’s likely. Personally I still hope it gets a techtree version too, like they did for a lot of high BR premiums.
