Reading the tea leaves tells me that the F-14A will get the AIM-9L, while the F-14B will finally get the well-deserved AIM-9M. What’s more, they’ll add another F-14A with “early” in the name, and it will be a squadron aircraft without the AIM-9L but with the AIM-9H, just like the current F-14A.
The F-14D, on the other hand, will unfortunately be a premium aircraft (the snail likes lettuce)… Probably equipped with the AIM-120A+AIM-9M and better radar/add IRST, It will likely be set at BR 13.3 for the first year to ensure sales are as high as those of the SU-30 Premium; later, they will probably raise it to BR 13.7, just as they will eventually do with the SU-30 Premium.
How do I know all this? I don’t know—I’m just rambling.
PS:
Since the AIM-120s were only tested on the F-14 but never implemented as standard equipment, the F-14D may receive the AIM-54C just like the B version, but with the announced changes to Pulse-Doppler guidance, which will also benefit the F-14B.
PS II:
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/ludaFAmzJOwi
just a year after the AIM-9M was accepted for the F-14B and to this day NOTHING, interestingly enough, I cannot yet find an application from AIM-54C where the PULSE DOPPLER seeker application was accepted.
But in the end, these are just “suggestions”, the snail will do whatever it wants.
