F-14AM - The Iranian Tomcat - History, Performance, and Discussion

Theres no good reason for them to hold back the AIM-54C anymore if theyre going to make the best long range AAM be a stupid event missile

I’ve increased altitude (8km) and distance (60km) a bit to make it more interesting.

Quite unnecessary, the Fakour-90 and Sedjil are probly vast superior to any other A2A missile in-game unless they change the performance of any. (Also saying this as I already tested the AIM-54C against both, it performs “as bad” as the AIM-54A against them.) *If these configs are the actual ones

ah ok

Oh boy … It’s not even a contest …

Is it unable to reconnect the datalink, if the TWS target is lost, like the AIM-54?

No Fox 3 missile in the game has datalink reconnect. Not even AIM-120.
Only R-27 has datalink reconnect.

And it shouldn’t

It’s a semi active so if you lock the target again and its in seeker range it should still track

Could you please make a comparison with the R27ER as well? Also is this missile you’re using in the actual files?

I’m seeing a distinct lack of r73’s

I don’t see the missile or loadouts in the latest datamine from Gszabi and there is no newer version of the dev server. Where did the information come from?

Gszabi datamine

I was sure they were going to make the fakour-90 somehow better than the aim-54, I just didn’t expect it would be by that much. So if you want to fly the best Tomcat, you have to get the Iranian one. Classic.

Fully expecting the R-73 to be added too.

I’ll wait until they share where the information came from. I don’t see the Fakour in the latest datamine.

From Johnwick’s sheet, Gszabi’s datamine is now going by dev instead of dev-stable as Gszabi has said today.

I mean, were you expecting an 80’s F-14 to compete with a 2020’s F-14?

Despite having lower max overload, will the fakour be able to actually pull more G’s due to its increased speed and thrust?

More than likely it will overall be more agile, yes.

Phoenix can occasionally pull 17G when at high speeds, but that takes quite some time due to the terrible acceleration.

Fakour 90 will be pulling 15G at ~3km from launch and retaining that pretty much up until impact.

That is gonna be fun to use TBH, I much prefer the climb to alt and launch on targets while cranking and notching, than the old furball knife fight fox 2 battles at 0 meters.

I’m cautiously excited, the TF30 is a horrible engine that I hated when the old F-14A released. Dunno if the fakour 90 will make up for that. Maybe it will.

One question I have is, if the Fakour-90 is close in size to the AIM54, how did they manage to fit the M112 in one piece? The M112 seems to be a lot bigger than the MK47?
