As a mig-23 player, I give up bombing or fighting and immediately go to camp the enemy’s forward airfield if I’m in a BR with F-14 iriaf on the enemy side (11.7-12.7). Really a crazy op vehicle.
It doesn’t come even close to the balancing marvel of Brezhnieviak-Pissaev also known as BI, rocket plane turning tighter than Zero, that can cruise at 750km/h for an hour with its fuel load, if needed outclimbs 8.3 jets and somehow sits at 6.7 where it’s basically unkillable.

because fk90 are fast. you don’t have much time to notch the fk90. They a basically an R-27EA with much larger warhead (still, players dying from the first wave of ARH are really not so smart)
or there is just 1 or 2% packetloss or Chinese teammates on EU server that renders chaff completely ineffective as these heavily depend on the server being stable. Not everyone is dumb, and the game is far from reliable and fine.

The F-16A and Mig-29 are superior to F-14A IRIAF in every way, it’s no where close to OP.
Also R-27EA would be 50% more maneuverable, and R-27Rs are more maneuverable.
Yeah but I mean like cmon, they turn like shit and light your rwr up. I quick cold and chaff or notch chaff and switch direction and it’s off you.

F16A and mig 29 are not superior to IRIAF in every way.
IRIAF has best long range missiles on 12.7, and that cant be denied. Fakours are even faster vs 120’s. Yes, they dont manouver so good, but those things trust in raw power.
And IRIAF is better on gunrange dogfight vs mig 29.
F16 has a lot better airframe and IR missiles.
Both has better RWR and mig 29 a lot better radar.

I have the plane i haven’t touched it yet and only met it as opponent… Least balanced planes… yes…
F-14 IRIAF (or any of them) isn’t even in the top 10.
Let’s start with A-10/Su-25s that people still call the excuse “it’s slow” … meanwhile they could just not use it in ARB, it’s CAS planes, they don’t have to be good in dogfights. You shouldn’t even be able to think getting them into dogfights intentionally. But yeah, let’s let them meet planes with no CMs even…while they got all aspects!!
MiG-23M/MF … why that crap again meets planes without CMs? Because IT HAS TO BE GOOD - no it doesn’t. Think that MiG-27s are 11.3.
Yak 38s… the plane is trash… ok… ! it was built to be trash. Ok let’s make it face Korean era jets with 4x R-60s and me 163 …because superior technology…
AV-8B+… another “it’s slow” … But has AMRAAM and AIM-9M. Meanwhile some of the opponents don’t even have SARH to begin with…
Both FRS.1 AIM-9L meets opponents without CMs… guess what… they are slow…
GR.3/AV-8C…AIM-9G vs Korean jets…they have the same speed they are equal. Korean jets are more agile but eating 9G from the top and 5km away… equals.
Any 13,7-14.0 …they even meet jets without any ARH .
Ex. a F-15A will have harder time meeting a Rafale , than any 11.7 meeting a Tomcat…any Tomcat.
And all these are from the top of my head… not going too deep.
The problem is we need decompression in general… i can agree, but F-14 IRIAF (or any) is one of the least problems.
It is annoying , i face it ALL the time in my F.1C . have died to Fakour/AIM-54 only once because i was distracted by my dog.
Not balanced… eh…no…not really.
If any it was an exceptional plane in RL. I must see it and have problem. Unlike any other crap i mentioned that don’t even make sense…

Understandable, but many times i don’t want to use comma. More like giving tone to what i’m saying. In some parts i’m being ironic. Dots have purpose.

It has a relatively poor radar, poor RWR, low CM count, rear-aspect IR missiles and easily defeated ARH missiles.
It’s actually not that good of an aircraft
Just poor map design, having everyone take off from a single point creates a perfect kill valley to spam off F-90s or Aim-54s and you get a lot of premies that don’t know how to defend

IRIAF only does better in full uptiers. If it’s a 13.3-12.3 or 13.0-12.0 game the MiG-29A and F-16A are better.

this is not remotely true. the rwr at least gives direction if not a launch warning and it will detect arh missiles within 9 miles so enough to dodge. the aim9p is an aim9j so while a little dated it definitely works and has some flare resistant. the r27r is a wonderful sarh with 35g of overload it’s just superior to the aim7f for close in fights, and the arh fakours 90s compliment them perfectly by giving you a super long reach while also being maneuverable and fast enough to hit medium range targets just outside r27r range. The cm situation is kinda suffering but most people bring radar missiles so you can mostly just stay and notch until people are distracted or lose interest.
It feels quite balanced in my opinion.
