Yes.
I guess F-14A (2001) at 12.7 BR same F-14B but different engine and not armed AIM-7P
I want change infrared Air-to-Air Missile stock, add AIM-9M-8 Sidewinder & AIM-7P Sparrow for F-14B in next major update
ima be 100% honest, idk why tf anyone would want a “late” F-14A. It would just be a bad F-14B, just like a “late” F-14B would just be a bad F-14D…
One person can’t play as pilot and RIO, it would open a pandoras pox of “realism” that takes away from gameplay and above all, fun.
All aspect missiles are a huge benefit, whatever way you look at it. The F-14B needs 9Ms (whatever variant) to be different and worth researching, otherwise the F-14A would just be a B but worse. Their BRs should be adjusted accordingly after that.
24 deg/s They are achieved at G = 11.5, which in reality is simply not possible
I don’t have the time (nor the willpower) to search through every page of this document but from what I can see it does say the all the tomcats used 9Ms but doesn’t really specify what variants
This is also from 2002 so some information may be missing
Since there are photos of both F-14s carrying the AIM-9M-8, it is probably fair to assume that they can carry all AIM-9Ms except the AIM-9M-10 and the Air Force model.
I stand corrected than
As per my suggestion, implementing RIO/WSO capabilities by just allowing 2 seaters to do mouse designated radar locks would be super easy, not require any new keybinds, and wouldnt take away from player agency…
Never said all aspect AAM’s wouldnt be a benefit, but the required increases in BR to compensate for the addition would be more harmful than helpful. Also, the B is substantially better than the F-14A, better RWR, better engines, better CM suite. They could have the same missiles and the B would still be worth researching.
You can already do this by putting the keybind on your mouse/controller and clicking. There is no allowed or not allowed
I’ve always been a proponent for the F-14s to be foldered, if the B is just an a but better nobody will play the A, thus making it so the B is worth 800,000 research points. There needs to be way more separation between the two than avionics. The AIM-9Ms could do that for it.

Nah, it would be pretty funny unless your RIO/friend has zero humour or usually has zero energy for engagements. I’d love to fly with my friends in the Tornados or F-14s and it wouldn’t take away much besides technically hindering you.
I think it would be kinda cool if there was an option where you could take a friend to be your second seater in sim or somthing
You CLEARLY do not understand my suggestion lmao, not even sure if you’ve bothered reading it at this point
You’re right, because from what I can put together it looks like you want to be able to point your mouse at a target and lock it. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I guess premium F-14s would come in the game sooner or later just like what they did for F-5s with MiG-28 pre-order camouflage.
Hope F-14D or F-14B(U) wouldn’t be under pay wall.
Basically, same as HMD PD but out to the max range of the radar, but unable to use other HMD modes
Itd be a bit weird to see the F-14D as a premium, the B(U) might, but itd be a little odd as well, particularly since theres a lot of other jets thatd be better off as high tier premiums, such as the F-16XL
Oooh ok nvm than ignore what I said lol.
Yeah that’s alright I guess, as long as it has the same refresh rate as the radar than there’s not really a problem with it
Yeah its just meant to be a way to emulate telling your RIO which target you want them to lock basically. It doesnt let the plane do anything it wouldnt be able to do or take away your control over the radar, it just allows you to reduce the workload a bit by allowing you to keep eyes on target and flying properly while effectively manipulating the radar, its all been detailed and explained here: Mouse designated radar lock for 2 seater jets
