F-14 Tomcat: History, Performance & Discussion

the performance of the mig-25 is well known and if we get the Mig-25PD with the SPO-10 and no CMs then you wont even be able to survive a F-4 launching at you and even less a F-14

we dont know if it will face f14 yet, f4 dont take a lot effort to chaff it and turn and run

how will you chaff a missile without having any countermeasures?

no cms means very low br, and no one want a mig25 at 10.7 or 11.0

When they’ll fix 54s…

Meanwhile NASA has a report about the missile. Yes they used 54C with modifications … but they give the performance data with the normal 54C for comparison. Just copy that damn thing…
The missiles mach number is over 3 mach for a good 120 seconds. In game barely touches 3 mach …
If statshark is accurate for the game… F90 behaves like what 54C should.

Grumman confirms the F-14D’s APG-71 radar has double the range of the AWG-9.

Just found this now.

That means the range is 2 x 370km, which is 740km of range. Wild.

With no parameters this statement is meaningless

What else could they mean?

“Twice the previous range” is pretty clear

dosent mean that you can lock targets at that range or fire missiles at them

it is also probably in hprf and against large targets

and even then at those ranges the curve of the earth strats to become problematic as well

Exactly… similarly with every radar.
The maximum potential range.

not like anything over 100km matters for warthunder anyways

Uh that’s not a problem at all. That’s what I expect.
