F-117 buff

Will the F-117 ever have its low IR signature modeled as it has its engines hidden and cooled down like in real life? Secondly, its radar signature is still big and can easily be shot by outdated air defense systems such as the OSA-AKM.

Anotha one

It actually does. It has a 0.5x multiplier applied to its IR signature…

The issue is that Gaijin doesnt model exhaust temps for fixed wing aircraft. Directional exhaust is only modeled on helis (no idea if its only some or all) its essentially tied to thrust output (long story short) and the result is that an afterburning F-5 is actually colder than an F-117.

Until Gaijin fundementally overhauls how aircraft heat sigs work, the F-117 will just have to get in line regarding having accruate heat signatures.

how heat sigs/flaring works in game

RCS is a relatively new to WT, and we’ll probably see it refined and improved when Gen 5s are eventually added, most aircraft still dont have any RCS modeling and their current RCS signatures are based upon size and nothing else. (Typhoon for example is the same RCS signature as the Tornado, despite being 10x smaller IRL)

Though you would have to provide a primary source for its current RCS signature not being correct and then submit a bug report
