F-111A can only reach 1.13 Mach with 6 AIM 9Bs, 60 minuts of fuel? AIM 9B?

Aim 7fs are some of the worst radar missiles though. For some reason, they’re super easy to out roll in almost any plane, just holding rudder and ailerons with some elevator will avoid any aim 7f, even the f111f. Most of the time, people dying to any aim 7 derivative at the start of the game is mostly skill issue (as long as you have a semi competent rwr which the f111f has). What I find dumb is that you’re flying a strike aircraft over the middle of the map where most of the enemy fighters are going to be. Of course you’re gonna be shot at, you’re the in the fastest plane in the game, you can go round the map and still get bases. You can avoid most of the fighter “non sense” by taking a better route.

I literally never do that, I fly to the side without afterburner at I dunno 300 meters above ground, which was shown in the screenshot.

I don’t play as bomber, especially when u aren’t as fast with bombs and Tornado etc dudes will just rush straight to bases while me making a semi circle, hoping that at least one base is alive and kicking? Nice advice, appreciate that

Also, and then what? If I didn’t help my team anyhow with any kill, I, theoretically destroy a base and then I can gladly eject or what, if all my team is dead by then? It isn’t even profitable to destroy one-two bases and just die

why fly 300 m off the ground, either fly at <60 or fly at 5500 m alt (right below contrails). there’s no reason to be in between either

Well some say here that it’s important to change alt when u’re being locked, and by that logic u can’t go lower than 60 meters
Also I suppose in fact I fly lower than 300 meters

Does the f111 accelerate better once you spade it? Unlocked rn it’s kinda not doing as good as i expected, those things seemed a lot faster when i wasn’t the pilot lol

I’d like to remind everyone that the F-111 was only limited to mach 1.2 and 2.5 by something that war thunder doesn’t even care about: airframe and engine lifespans. If we’re going to say these are hard limitations then the F-14 should also be limited to mach 1.5 and 6g per its flight manual. In real life it was barely supersonic carrying 6x AIM-54. I find it extremely frustrating that the F-14 is given such huge handholding gestures to give it its maximum theoretical, advertised capabilities, and then some, and the F-111 is basically kicked in the shins at every turn.

Here I am, losing speed in even the new F-15I which has much more powerful engines with higher specific thrust than the TF-30s that should be vastly outperforming the TF-30s at this altitude but it’s woeful in comparison to the F-111’s irl performance at this alt + 4000ft.
