Today I updated my Nvidia driver and fired up the game to be greeting by 40 or less FPS in hanger. Massive drop so I changed a few setting and it remained the same. I reverted back to the previous driver and same result. Updated back to the new driver and still same issue. Matches are now below 60fps where as before I never went under 120. 5090 with DLSS Quality. I went to native and the FPS stayed the same, switched to DLSS performance and it stayed the same. Is there now a DLSS bug? Any ideas?
UPDATE: I have found its ray tracing causing this. I had to turn it completely off. I can not even have it on at low as it will drop FPS massively.
Having the same issue on dlss. Running a 5060 8gb and had ray tracing on ultra. Monday night everything was basically maxed. Came home from work yesterday, updated driver and fps was at 34 in hangar. Not sure what happened. Let me know if you figure anything out.
It’s for sure related to Ray Tracing. I had to turn it off entirely and now I never dip below 120fps. It’s like there is a bug keeping DLSS from working with Ray Tracing on at any setting.
You can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)
A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)
They require very specific files to be able to investigate performance related issues so i recommend reading the guide linked above.
Yeah. Without RT, I surpass 170 FPS; but as soon as I set only ONE RT setting at low, it drops to 60 with drops up to just 30-40.
Can’t be right.
Trust me, I did lots of searching last night and didn’t find anything about it. I’ll for sure report the issue when I get off work later. I love cranking up the setting and having ray tracing on. I grew up with Battlefield 1942 on PC so for me this game looks amazing on a 85in tv in 4k 🤣
I’m having the same problem. The frames are almost static, that is, when the Nvidia application doesn’t suddenly close and the game goes offline.
Well for some reason I logged in today and have zero issue with ultra ray tracing. Glad it’s back to normal!
Yeah same here man thanks for putting the post out in the forum. Glad I wasnt the only one lol.
First thing ANYONE should do when facing this kind of situation is to clear the relevant folders out in the game folder.
Clear the contents of the cache folder, and the compiledShaders folder so they regenerate.
Is there even any Game where RT works without issues? I have an 4070 Super and i can’t use it a single Game without it causing massive FPS Drops or i have to turn down all the other graphic Settings just to have it be somewhat stable around 50-60FPS but then Games look like crap. But without it can usually run every Game on max / Ultra etc Settings on 1440p above 100-165FPS
Well I run settings maxed out, DLSS quality, 4k and ray tracing ultra and average around 120fps. But it’s a 5090. I don’t use the frame generation in this game as there is no point with my tv being 120hz.
same here. i usually get 150-200 fps. after driver update, my frames were reduced by over half
