I would like to suggest the addition of a Add on Armor modification to the Sd.Kfz.222 in the German tree, like there already exist Track add on and other Armor package modifications for other vehicles.
Historically speaking the 10mm Vorpanzer / Zerschellerplatte (Spaced / Shatter Plate) was added in Serie 2. to the Sd.Kfz.222 as its frontal armor was still 8mm angled, to be proof against 7,92 mm S.m.K. ammo from 30m away. Until the increased base armor was available some of these Vorpanzer were added to the lower hull of the Vehicle to increase the frontal armor (with 50mm space) to 18mm making it proof against even 12,7mm S.m.K. ammo.
While partly forbidden and spoken against due to weight concerns on the hull crews still employed these 10mm extra shields on even Serie 5. Sd.Kfz.222 which already had the 30mm Frontal armor, like in game, further increasing it to 40mm with 50mm space in between, offering protection against Russian 14,5mm ammo as well as some more protection against other capped rounds from distance (merely more protection not immunity). Beyond that at the cost of extra weight it most likely only offered improved moral.
