Expanded List of Indonesian Vehicles - Ground

Huh never seen that Green/brown line pattern before? is there any IRL photo of this or this is something based of foreign BMP-3 camo pattern

the 76mm gun was changed to the 90mm Cockerill, however it is not the same as the Scorpion since the PT-76M’s uses the triple baffle muzzle brake, which is unable to fire APFSDS rounds

Bug report about the BMP-3Fs engine. In game it’s UTD-29 (450hp), while it should be UTD-29M (500hp)

Ah that’s alright, I can live with that. Now we need the MARINIR decals (shameless plug)

T-90S currently under evaluation for the future

Redirecting...

The army quite literally did a feasability study already, and they highlight how dangerous the turret tossing part is for the crew. The fact that we’re evaluating it again is nonsensical. I could say more but id rather not

This is kinda weird to me, lol!

They could’ve modernized their Leopard 2A4+ or 2RI to make them more relevant to modern battlefield requirements. For example, they could use Turkish-made products such as APS, laser warning systems, and optics (they really need to replace that PERI R17A1, lol).

If the results of that evaluation actually become reality, then they’re seriously wasting the full potential of their Leopard fleet.

And if they really want a new MBT, then the K2, Altay, or even cheaper options like the Al-Khalid or VT-4 might be better candidates than the T-90S. Unless, of course, what they’re actually evaluating is the T-90MS.

I also wanted to ask something about the Leopard 2A4+, since I’m planning to make a suggestion post for this vehicle.

I’m aware that it received several upgrades, such as the EWNA system, modifications to support programmable ammunition like the DM11, and an air conditioning system.

However, were there any specific upgrades to its thermal imaging system? Considering that the 2RI uses third-generation thermals in-game, I think the 2A4+ should also use the same thermal generation as a baseline, since the 2A4+ is essentially a 2RI without the APU, AMAP, and rear/front cameras.

However, I also strongly believe that this vehicle (and even the 2RI) still retains the WBG-X as its thermal imaging system.

There isnt really any feasibility in adding more leopards since there aint no spare leopard left for cheap

from what I’ve heard its supposed to replace the older AMX-13s since its Price Per Unit is cheaper than the Harimau MT, and they are for the standard Kodam Yonkavs (territorial defence) whereas the leopards are under kostrad’s Yonkavs (rapid deployment)

Id much rather we get the Al-Khalid than the basic T-90S, since atleast it would fit with the “Badr” pact we have going on but thats the reign of a different broker (including Turkey’s stuff)

could also be evaluating for a possible tender fight in the future who knows

This one im not so sure about. While its claimed that its the same, we never really have any confirmation. We only have 1 or 2 sources mentioning it as such, but if its the exact same then it should have the rear AC compartment as well as the drivers camera, however those two are lacking in the base model in images

It could be that it was originally the plan to make it the same, but something changed down the line. If it was evident then i would make the suggestion, but its very ambigious

No. I mean, they can Upgrading their Leopard 2A4/2RI instead.

But after I read this, then it makes sense. Ofc upgrading leopard ain’t gonna fix this problem.

Yeah same. Finding a source for this vehicle was a bit difficult and gave me a bit of a hard time too.

One thing that I can found is.

This is from Rheinmetall it self and they also Describes the upgrades on the Leopard 2A4+ and 2RI
And this one
Indonesia’s Leopards arrive - Australian Defence Magazine

Dawg, not even the M variant :''v

tbh, I wish it was Altay, because at least it is a K2 variant.

From what I’ve gathered, they want to buy 400 MBTs. Clearly, they’re targeting quantity, and those requirements meet the requirements mostly from the east. Soo…that’s it

if the plan is to just modernize the territorial unit then it kinda makes sense, since it would basically be a full upgrade for the crews, but again Id much rather have the Al-Khalid than the basic T-90S

could’ve given me 10 guesses and this wouldn’t be one of them

Well, on the positive side I’ve heard there will also be Harimau procurement of 200 tank or so.
Would be even better if they uses domestic turret, but idk if the development even completed.

reasoning:

Lembaga KERIS on X: "Gara2 isu leopard kita mau dibuy back ini" / X

so i guess its for the Kostrad after all? Then this is monumentally a bad decision

“them wanting to buy back leopards”

Who is “Them” in this case? I’m a little lost.

So basically germany(i assume) want to buy back our leopard (only the 2a4+ i assume?) And our higher up want to use that money to buy essentially t90a? Why not just barter them 1:1 with 2a6, or even beter 2a7+/v?
