Expanded List of Indonesian Vehicles - Ground

based on chinese sources, the type 52 only has 300m of effective firing range with 3km of max range. HEAT shell can pen up to 70mm of armor at 30 degrees, so its effectively a downgrade from the US’ shell.

Probably wouldnt be that great, but certainly an interesting vehicle nevertheless

From the photo i think it’s still the Type 36, the Type 52 photo i saw lacked any cheek pad and using different tripod unlike these that using M1917A1 Tripod (just like original M18 and Type 36)

There’s also this round for the type 36 described as a anti-armor sabot round captured by US forces in vietnam

It’s actually for Type 56 75mm Recoilless gun. misidentification probably

in regards to the tripod, basically they describe that the mount is not just the triangle-tripod mount but can be adjusted to anything to fit in the battlefield

from the museum: (1:33) [军迷行天下]民国三十六年式57毫米无后坐力炮产量不大

also I dont think the ID one uses the browning mount

notice the gun is mounted to the green bits, and its placed behind the central vertical mount (marked in red)

here’s the type 36 mounted on a browning mount for instance

the green parts of the ID version looks like a “C” whereas the browning one looks like a “U”

Considering it was in an operation against PRRI, could it be that the weapon was supplied by US to the PRRI, and then was captured by central government forces?

We know that the Permesta rebels were supplied with M20 Super Bazooka, which at the time wasn’t even operated by the TNI themself.

I could be wrong, but it kinda looks like Vickers MG tripod

bit of a tangent but i just found out that the Cavalry Museum has this page detailing the ammunition used by some ID Fighting Vehicles

  • Leopard 2

    • HE (two different fuse, standard-fuse & Timed-fuse)
    • APFSDS
    • HEAT
  • Scorpion & Tarantula (dunno why Badak is not included here since its the same gun)

    • HESH
    • HESH-T
    • HEAT-T
    • APERS-T (anti-personnel)
    • APFSDS
  • AMX-13

    • HEAT
    • HE
  • V-150

    • HE-CAN-90 (HE)
    • HEAT-T-CAN-90 (HEAT-T)
    • SMK-CAN-90 (Smoke)
    • CAN-T-90 (anti-personnel buckshot)
photos of some of the shells in the museum

also fun fact the museum uses the warthunder vehicle image for the Leopard 2A4

Which reference you are still lacking?

also you might want to update the list with the Jeep with M18 recoilless rifle, it’s would be a fun BR I fast TD IMO

Aside from this Marines Jeep with Strela, the author claim he saw Unimog truck with dual strela mount (most likely ship borne missile mount) during 1995 ABRI 50th anniversary, i tried to find any image proof of that SPAA but still got no result.

mainly the bee prototype but it encompasses the pre-production one aswell, specifically talking about its exact specifications & history of development. I could add only the first prototype Anoa FSV since its quite literally the same as the anoa PK20, but now id much rather do multiple suggestion encompassing one vehicle family/type rather than just only vehicle for one suggestion

ill probably add it once i add the misc ground vehicles section, but not on my priority at the moment

for this i dont think it is mounted on anything

looks like the marines are propping it up on the metal truckbed frame of the KIA rather than having a dedicated mount. If it has a mounting, then Unless we get a clear view of it then i cant add it unfortunately

For Strela twin mount on Unimog truck, it’s plausible that the configuration are similar to the East German Strela truck on the picture. although this is just the article author witness claim 30 years ago and without proof of picture.

ill probably add it once i add the misc ground vehicles section, but not on my priority at the moment

So what kind of vehicle to you plan to add to misc vehicle section aside from tested vehicle, planned to buy etc?

same as the air list, but again not on priority

Well i suggest you add to the list some niche vehicle or AFV that still not sure to be added to the game like Aceh Insurgency Armored Unimog with M2 browning, BTR-40 (40mm AGL) etc

those are for the primary list

as ive said before, my stance is i wont add it until Gaijin implements a AGL-primary vehicle and there’s no point in adding coldwar/modern trucks to fight against ww1 tanks, unless that vehicle is plausible enough to be implemented without it being jarring

think stuart recce, btr-50 with dshk, etc

plus if infantry is going the way of Squad then those vehicle could play a massive part there instead

alright finally done with the PT-76s

so thats 6 pending suggestions now

  • Isuzu NPS (Giant Bow)
  • AMX-10P IFV
  • AMX-10P PAC-90
  • Panhard EBR Mle 1951 (.50 Madsen-Saetter)
  • PT-76B w/ DShK
  • PT-76M

edit: done with another, Meriam GS 105mm Howitzer (AMX Mk.61)

so that’s 7 pending suggestions (+1 dutch version of it as well but not counting that since its not Indonesian)

It’s seem P8 Light tank is being tested by the army

Bonus photoshoot pic

The P8 Light tank in that image seems to be AI btw, if this is from the same twitter source ive seen then its a bit questionable (Got tagged by SynthID check plus i’ve seen no mention of it elsewhere)

Yeah, it also just looks off compared to the real vehicle. Mainly things like the toothed sprocket in the front, metal tracks, weirdly asymmetric rocket launchers on both sides and closed off muzzle brake, but there’s probably more that I just didn’t see.

The IRIS-T was showcased by Diehl Defence to Indonesian Chargé d’affaires & Defense Attachés during a meeting in MSPO 2025 in Poland, among other things were also explained, such as IDAS, Smart munitions, & the HPEM Effectors

The Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw attended the opening of the Defense Industry Exhibition 33rd International Conference (MSPO) in Kielce, 4 September 2025

On September 2, 2025, the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw and the Indonesian Defense Ministry (Athan RI) attended the opening of MSPO 2025 (International Defense Industry Exhibition/Międzynarodowy Salon Przemysłu Obronnego) in Kielce, Poland. The exhibition was attended by high-ranking Polish officials, 811 companies from 35 countries, and delegates from 45 countries.

On this occasion, KUAI [Chargé d’affaires] and Athan [Defense Attachés] also held meetings with several defense industry players, including: Jakusz, which offered its “Paula” gas-tight container for countering explosives and hazardous substances; Germany’s Diehl Defence, which presented its IRIS-T guided missile-based air defense system and other products such as IDAS, precision ammunition, and the HPEM Effectors electromagnetic system; and Poland’s WB Group, which displayed its FONET tactical communications system and FlyEye surveillance drone. These presences are part of efforts to strengthen defense cooperation and open up opportunities for strategic collaboration between Indonesia and international partners.

of course its only talks, so nothing will happen most likely, but the interest is there
