Excellent Lineups

This game, as much as we hate on it, does try it’s best to make things even. But their are some lineups that, when played right, are utterly broken. Ima try to list some, but let it be clear that these are not ALL the excellent lineups. Just a few, a snapshot if you will. If anyone wants to mention a loadout that is little known but excellent, go right ahead.

Example 1: USSR at 10.3
2S38: Great for flanking, but not so much CQC.
BMP-2M: Excellent IFV, it’s APFSDS belt is decent and those ATGM’s hit HARD (at least, compared to TOW’s
T-72AV Turms: All round solid MBT. Decent armour, good mobility and nice gun.
BMD 4M: Not exactly it’s BR, but it’s not far-off a BMP-2M with a Ferrari V12. Peak rat tank.
Object 292: Obviously not accessible to everyone, but that 152mm dart smacks
SU-25K: Decent speed, tanks SAM’s for some reason, and those S-250 rockets are propelled bombs.
KA-50: Situational, but depending on the map a Heli rush can be very successful.
Also maybe a Tungusta for AA work.

Next, USA 7.0
The centrepiece is the T26E5, T26 E1-1, T34 or T29. Take 1 to 3 of the previous.
For a light tank, the Bulldog or 76 Sheridan. (NOT the T92 it’s trash IMO)
Then, a wild card. The T95 if you can tolerate the speed, or maybe the M50 Ontos.
Finally, CAS. Any Sky raider or Mauler will do.
The main flaw is the lack of SPAA. There is the Skink, but it’s the Skink. Don’t forget that.

Here’s one thats may be less well-known: 9.0/3 Sweden
Itspv Leopard: Just a better Gepard
CV9030FIN: Nice for flanking, 30mm isn’t terrible
T-55M, T-72 or Leopard 1A5N02: Very solid MBT’s
Ikv-91-105: Paper thin, but still quite good.
Wild Card: STRV 103C- Peak cheese wedge.
Probably best to avoid the STRV 105, a jacked up Centurion isn’t great.

France 7.7 (general BR vicinity)
CLOVIS: Mobile HEAT slinger with a 20mm for rats and LR
SOMUA SM: Chonky heavy tank with surprisingly good mobility, with decent armour and a good cannon, insane reload rate.
AMX-50 TOA100/ Surbaisse: Well Rounded beasts; Surbaisse is a better T34
Char 25t, AML-90 AMX-13-90: Great Ratty light tanks, but 90mm HEAT can be a pain.
Capable in Uptiers, even better in Down tiers

USA 8.3
XM246: Like a Gerpard but slower, should not be (but is) tanky
XM800T: The ultimate rat
M60A2 Starship: Unconventional and somewhat awkward, but broken when played right
M3 Bradley: Solid IFV, bushmaster and TOW’s is a decent combo
M60A1 AOS: Just a solid MBT, no problems dealing with soviet stuff.

Germany 8.3
Pzh 2000: Giving up on fun in this game? This might fix it.
Raketenautomat: A demon
Gepard: Marksman turret (sorta) on a Leo 1 chassis. A recipe for success
M48A2 G A2: Just decent
Leopard 1: A MBT with light tank speed. And light tank armour. Not a street brawler

So that’s my list. Any one of these lineups will not only be good in terms of progressing through the game, but also fun. (shocker). I’m not suggesting they are perfect, but they are very very good.
(could have listed more but couldn’t b bothered tbh)

Honestly this are well used Line ups which is how one should play do as there are more options available depending what the team or you need.

Not really a rule to do this as players do have their own free will to add whatever they want, that’s just how WT was designed to be played for ground. Some just take MBTs/TDs with no CAS or SPAA, some add more light vehicles than MBTs, some just 1 tank and a bunch of CAS planes, some just 1 tank 1 plane. Some just 1 grind vehicle. That is more of a self satisfaction or wants rather than team supportive for some comebacks, not saying its wrong to do. Having proper line ups allowed me to do some comebacks on the verge of losing matches.

My 9.3 for Japan.

I dont see any mention of US 5.7, which is absolutely goated with several good options.

  • 75 Jumbo/Cobra King, great brawler, but requires some careful aiming due to weaker gun. Slaughters in downtiers.
  • T1E1/ T1E1 90mm, both very good options. Armor profile isnt the best but their mobility and transmission is excellent for a heavy tank. Base version offers 76mm with short stop stab, which is very potent gun for this BR, while the other variant offers the 90mm thats devastating, albeit unstabilised. On top of that both have a coax 37mm which has lot of utility and gives the player ability to make follow up shot on soft targets should APHE over-pen.
  • E8/ Sherman (Hell), whats arguably THE best 5.7 medium tank (Panther is really a heavy tank). Mobility, short stop stab, 76mm gun, played properly this thing slaps.
  • M36B2, somehow fast turreted TD with great firepower for its BR. On top of that it somehow gets access to HEAT-FS at 5.7, giving it the ability to engage enemy heavy armor even in full uptier.
  • Skink/Skink (Hell), a really good AA people hate on for whatever reason, despite its shells being only slightly worse than that of Wirbel. Seriously, the ability to not get screwed over by stray machinegun spray is slept on for some reason.

And, if players have free crew slots, they can also take M4A2 76mm Sherman as backup, since its only sligthly slower E8, and base M36 Jackson just in case they need another 90mm to bonk the krauts with.

For CAS there are several options, I run Bostwicks P-47, as it had rockets for supressing the enemy AA, bombs to take out tanks and is decent in the CAP role.

The rounds are too damn slow making aim a chore.

Agree with everything else mostly.

They are only marginally slower than those of Wirbel.

Which I also don’t much care for :D

Though the Wirble seems to have better precision.

Eh, fair enough. My point was that for BR skinks ammo is workable and whatever deficiencies are compensated by platform.

I think the platform is a drawback. Being a Sherman it’s not as quick or nimble as other SPAA, while not benefiting from the armor that slows it down since it’s a Sherman.

I much prefer the Bosvark over the Skink and the T77E1 over the American Skink. Skink is ok, just hate the shell velocity, loses it quick, and shells drop meaning I have to aim further up to compensate for it.

Yes 6 .50s are definitely a lot easier to aim.

Eh, I see where you are coming from. while yes, skinks armor is nothing to write about, it stops me from being strafed by planes MGs and HE shells (and weaker AP rounds if god wills it) so it works for me.
