Most likely. Japan doesn’t have many SPAA systems. I just hope it won’t have the same problematic radar stuff that the Tan-SAM does, which is basically most useful as a temu iron dome.
Update 2.51.0.49 “improved TWS track stability”. I thought this would make the radar better to use but it still seems to have some horrendous tracking inaccuracy issues?

Even the other SPAAS that are considered poor still perform better
Sad…its getting the same treatment when Gaijin didn’t bother making the Type 93 SAM work (4 years it took them to fix it).
fr, tan-sam is the most useless spaa ive ever played in this game… its just impossible to play with it man…

Really? I think the Tan-SAM isn’t actually a bad SPAA, it’s just worse than the other top tier SPAA in the game, and it’s schizoid radar can be really hard to work with when there’s many or evasive enemies.
I can’t speak for other SPAA but the two main issues with the Tan-SAM are:

The radar as, as you pointed out, is a bit unreliable since the datalink is basically nonexistent during rotation

The range of the missiles is too short, especially with current top tier mid range FnF AGMs. By the time the target is in effective range to fire, they’ve already unloaded their payload on the team and are RTBing.
Granted the Chu SAM won’t be a wonder weapon in that it won’t be the best SAM in the game, but it’ll be the best SAM Japan gets as you can at least deter and hit people at range. If the radar gets a new mode that lets you scan in front for constant DL updates, even better.
Right now the main use for the Tan-SAM for me is mad dogging ARH missiles with from cover as using the TADS is asking for an AGM.

Play the Tan-SAM with confidence! Place down ammo crates on both TELs ASAP and you can whipe the sky clean of enemy munitions.
Oh yea, that’s what I do, just hide the TADS and TELs in cover and place ammo crates down waiting for enemies to have a false sense of security to fly close and then unload lol
I prefer to place my TELs right next to my TADS in the place with the most sky view possible while still being protected from enemy ground forces.
Idk how you guys do it but especially when I launch form the the radar vehicle my launchers dont elevate enough and the missile tends to just slam into the ground a lot.
