Dircm Helis are like totally invincible to Japan’s ground🥲
optical lock with type 81 and type 93 seems to ignore it but the range is piss
They will still get jammed
I was testing it out in ground simulator battles and they all connected
This was the mode I had it on, it ignored the jamming
the only issue was the sub 5km lock range
Strange, they lock for me but never hit🥲
I kept the optical lock the entire time just to make sure, maybe give that a try
Usually when they do it means Gaijins poor implementation of Optical imaging forced the missile into IR mode.
For example the missiles just can’t track targets <50m as if they were contrast missiles drawn to the contrast of the ground and clouds, even when they don’t obscure the target at all, reduce the range as well.
spaghetti code strikes again
Chu Sam passed🤩
As if it meant anything… not to mention it would be far behind other SAMs already.
At least, there might be sth🥲 Currently 81c is a an awkward situation, my hope is that we can get 03 for fighting planes and Thai adats for helis.
It is missing any kind of TVC so yeah probably worst “big SAM”
Not sure even aam5 gets that, 03 might be the best domestic aa jp can get now.
What do you mean about AAM-5? If AAM-5 has TVC it doesn’t mean Type 03 has it and in fact its missing
I mean Japan might not have used that kind of tech on any of its msl. Seriously don’t start to get angry
I am not angry just was confused with AAM-5 mention
TVC was used for AAM-5 missile and at some external heavy missile boosters like for Type 12 SSM and maybe Type 23 ship-based SAM (But Type 03 missing this type of booster)
I got it wrong, aam5 does have tvc
Type 03 only has fins, and no TVC. But it’s still an interesting setup with fully moving front and rear control surfaces, unlike the Type 81 missile for example where only the rear fins move.
Front Control Surfaces
Rear Control Surfaces
But for Type 03 Kai it seems to have a somewhat similar layout to IRIS-T SLM with long strakes on the missile body and control surfaces only in the rear. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has TVC, but since it’s not seen anywhere if it does this is only speculation.
IRIS-T SLM for comparison
It hasn’t. Here isn’t any mention of TVC for this missile in available docs
