That’s fine, just let it be optional. It’s really annoying when you have to constantly cycle targets to get back to the launching aircraft
I think an option to remove friendly rockets/bombs would be good too. Aircraft have an option to remove RWR pings from friendly aircraft so something similar so that our sensors don’t get cluttered
I cant even reliably shoot down ordinance because of how awful the radar is currently
Maybe i can get 1 but its usually still off by too far for the missile to start tracking
The radar has three tracking methods: coarse tracking, precision tracking, and intermittent tracking.
When the radar is being rotated, coarse tracking is used.
When a missile is fired at a target, the radar stops rotating and precision tracking is performed on the target. At this time, coarse tracking is also performed at the same time, and other targets are also tracked.
After the missile is launched, intermittent tracking is performed to track the target. This is used for UTDC.
It would be nice to see this implemented.
The main thing that’s wrong about the Tan-SAM kai is that it is nowhere near as effective as the IRIS-T SLM. We need decompression to happen, and we need it fast. IRIS-T SLM would make 13.0 while the Tan-SAM kai would maybe be 12.3 (30-40km vs ~10km? lol). Japan needs the Type 03 Chu-SAM to actually have a proper top tier SPAA.
We could get the Type 03 Chu-SAM. I have a draft suggestion but need more sources, mainly some technical data on the missile and radar, I’d also like a video where we can see the missile launch and fly for a bit). If any of you know about something, please send them to me.
I was hoping to have the launcher vehicle facing 2.5 degrees up when operating the radar vehicle and the scope and seeker centered when operating the launcher vehicle.
Same here. The seeker tracks well, so it might not be a big problem, but I still don’t like it.
However, when operating from the TADS, it actually seems to have improved compared to before.(Though I’m not completely sure yet.)
I’m not sure if you’re checking this thread, but the bug report regarding the change where the seeker is now displayed above the aiming point has been accepted, in the form of a suggestion to the developers to make it similar to the Type 93. Tan-SAM Kai(TEL)/Type81C:Seeker No Longer Centers on Screen
Gaijin really needs to change 2-3 things on the Typ 81s to make them bedder. (in my opinion)
The First change would be dropping the regular Typ 81 back to 11.3 and give it the ARH missiles.
The reason for the ARH missile is to be able to engage drones since ir cant lock them until 5-6km and it actually offers a way to defend yourself against lighter targest due to the maddog mode.
also you can have once again a lineup with the typ 90s and a BR diffrenc of 0.7 between the OG Typ 81 and the new one seems resonable.
The Second change would be to splitt the 4 rail launcher into a Primary and Secondary Weapon with 2 rails each.
This would enable you to carry bouth Missile Types at the same time and use them as the situation requires.
From what i Tested your main Missile will still be the IR one since its more reliable against Planes and Helis.
The ARH one comes in Handy for drones, incoming Missiles/bombs etc and for self defence against light targets.
Another plus for this setup would be that the reload times gets halfed since just half the amount of missiles will be reloaded and you can engaged quicker a target with the right missile.
RN it takes ages to swap the missile typ and it will swap it on bouth launcher vehicles wich is not optimal if you need to engage a specific target fast.
Also there is the reloadbug again wich hinders you massively but would be terminated with this change since you wont need to change out your missiles anymore.
This should be really easy to implement and we got pictures where we see bouth missile types mounted at the same time
These are just my thoughts about what should be changed to improve the Typ 81s gameplay wise.
