Yes, I know, I’m just trying to see if I can help with the Swiss Mirage with some French sources. The 500L tanks was tested and used by the French Mirage IIIs, and since the Mirage IIIS is derived from it, I thought both aircraft could be compatible with the same types of tanks.
Spoiler
The image below comes from this source page 9 if that helps
Looks like we are getting the Mirage IIIS does properly before its release. @Schindibee Can you open the same bug report for RWR of the Tiger II aswell, because it has the wrong one too.
The source he used was the Mirage IIIS flight manual, so it won’t apply to the Tiger. I have found three sources for the Swiss Tiger’s use of the AN/ALR-87, but two of them are Key Aero magazines and one of them is Jane’s, which they don’t like and I’m not sure if they would accept two sources from the same publication (even if they are different issues).
So I’ll keep looking for another unless you have found something.
Hey, where’d you find the texture for the canards? They’re not part of the main texture file, so I guess via CDK?
Was working last weekend on adapting my old Milan and IIIC templates for the IIIS, guess tonight may finish the whole lines and rivets, then off to camo, markings and weathering…
Plan to do at least one “basic” KAWEST 85 variant, plus some interesting special schemes, maybe even Goldie if I manage to get the _n-file do what I want for it…
@Schindibee Do you happen to have any sources for the F-5E have the AN/ALR-87? I have three but two of them aren’t great, so I’d prefer to have another.
Before it’s the same as for everything else, Hunters and stuff, but that doesn’t exist as downloadable font. I made the “J” and some numbers as vector graphic, but would have to make more.
For KAWEST 85 it’s “almost” Amarillo, with some changes in some numbers, e.g. the 5 which is slightly different, I think the 2 also…
Oh, just noticed that the IIIS is modelled with the nosewheel extended: That is a modification specific to Swiss Mirages to lower the high tailplane to make them fit through the blast doors of the mountain caverns, and is never used when flying the aircraft!
I do believe the TARAN is installed, but just atm not yet labelled correctly in the stats sheet: the shape of the radar in Xray view is clearly not the Cyroano, but the TARAN:
