Eurofighter vs Rafale battlefield

AOA limiter isn’t the same thing as a G limit. You’re confusing two different things.

oops then bad. Btw can i msg you about smth pls, i am getting ghosted by other tech mods

Sure.

You have to times the irl G limit by 1.5x to get the war thunder limit, because they have very forgiving instructor values, it’s also why most top tiers pull 12g+ because the airframe allows it essentially

In general as a rule of thumb the true stractual limit is around 150% of the ^safety^ one…
For naval planes the safety limit is lower than the usual air force’s limit (9g) , because the planes have more intense landings that already are pushing the frame.
Now some planes have limiters, that’s another story altogether…

Everything with a digitalised FBW system will be somewhat artificially limited for the interest of pilot safety and airframe longevity, although this is barely modelled in war thunder, only really with the SAS mode for SIM controls

its not exactly a forgiving instructor value but irl 1.5x the safety limit is usually the ultimate load limit factor.(beyond this point extreme/major structural failure occurs). but its simplified.

Except for the fact that the exact model of aircraft we have in-game is being fitted with AESA with very little modification.

T2 Typhoons which we have in-game will and maybe already have been fitted with them. If you exclude Qatar and Kuwait Typhoons that have been operating for years with CAPTOR-E then that still leaves test aircraft for all 3 nations and likely a few German Typhoons actually in service or close to being in service by now.

So a T2 Typhoon getting AESA is actually realisitc, as it will happen, and Tranche is rather irrelevant anyway after T2, as it just really denotes when it was built.

But given France already has the Rafale F4 in game like you have stated, and has done for an entire year, it is only fair that our T2s are given some of their full upgrade potential to allow them to compete in a single regard, radar performance, as the Typhoon currently has the weakest radar at 14.3. Its not like it will make Aim-120s or Aim-9s be actually good.

France doesn’t have the rafale F4, or it’d be missing some more armements, such as the AASM1000. Edit : F4 designation would also open the door for MICA NG, which I’m sure many people here wouldn’t want to see.
People have complained that the F3R carries both an HMD and 8 MICA, which were tested on French F3R with very little modification just like those T2 typhoons.
Now those typhoons having their ASEA 1 year « late » is another discussion

Loadouts are usually always used for balancing decisions. Otherwise the Typhoon in-game would already have Brimstone 2s or 3s and not 1s.

Again… Loadouts are a balancing decision, which is why the Typhoon in-game doesnt have ASRAAM/IRIS-T or Aim-120Ds or Meteors

The point is, The Rafale has dominated for an entire year. Loadouts are being used to artificially nerf the Typhoon but the Rafale got buffs it simply did not need to be competitive and just made it dominate even more.

rafale was a year too early*

Both were a year early tbh, eft would’ve been the powercreep without the rafale

this Variant of Rafale was a year too early,…

Gaijin could have given the Rafale M F.1 (PESA radar 6missiles Marine Interceptor only) or Rafale C F.2.2 (which feature PESA radar, 6 missiles Air-Air + 6 AASM-IIR or GPS)

Exactly, adding the F3R first was like adding the F-15E before the F-15C

Except that MICA NG pylons will only be opened on F4 variants… Loadout balancing decisions usually are by not adding certain weaponry, not adding those that aren’t officially compatible (if it’s not a Russian jet anyways.) And the AASM1000 would probably have been added seeing how handled it was if it had been an F4 directly

Also, you are not from those people I reference when stating that some people will still be able to find the Rafale F3R weaponry "unfair"when they’ll soon enjoy a Eurofighter that is finally treated to at least the same standard. You’ve made your stance pretty clear and I largely agree with it

And it would not have changed much. They would still have ended up with at least basic HMD following Gaijin’s principles of tested equipment (at least from F2 onwards, and F1 would not have been added as it would overall be worse than the current Mirage 2000-5F not only in ground but also in A2A). The only difference would have been the 2 extra MICA (and that is still debatable as their are photo evidence of those MICA pylons being physically mounted as early as B01 for testing purposes), as PESA and AESA are virtually identical in game. People would have still complained either way. The rafale was too soon - just like the EFT. Germany should just have gotten the F18C from the Swiss and both Rafale and (AESA) EFT should have been added together along/after other countries get their AESA (F15, Gripen…). For example even if they were to come out this winter, according to these leaks they’d still be top dogs.

I remember when rafale was presented/just added when all the YouTubers were claiming that the rafale would just be a discounted EFT and here we are now

source? as far as i can tell only the DGA Mirage 2000 was tested with Topsight
no Rafale F.2 ever used such system.

Bullshit,…
Rafale F.1 would remain fairly different than Mirage 2000-5F
you could call it a sidegrade eventually, but not a downgrade

Mirage 2000-5F is fast yes,…
but it never had A2G weapon historically (it was the 2000-5 mk2 and 2000-9 both of which are sensibly differents aircrafts)

that’s for sure,… whenever their aircrafts aren’t on top,… they complain,…

i don’t think so,… but those aircrafts presents a different approach of air combat, last of which is actually fitting the gameplay of war thunder far more than any other aircrafts.

we can go technical details too,… like the placeholder seeker every AIM-120’s got,… or the fact that by design the MICA is severly better in Short/Mid range,…
but most the problem come from how the gameplay is given to players today,…

BF/COD based community wanted action,… maps in tanks were shortenned for those reasons, air maps never really grew large enough to admit 32 aircrafts in the size of the biggest map.

FROM IRL: the biggest dogfight, that took place in Operation Sindoor, assembled 114 aircrafts in total, in a region of 1500km width → that’s 7.6 aircrafts/100km(width wise)

in game biggest map for air combat is 200km width (and we all start from one point).
that’s 16 aircrafts/100 kilometer(width wise)

and most of people battling in this forum expect reality to prevail,…

first thing is that YT creators are often seen as Gods mouths,… but most of them are even worse than half of the forum community when it come to judge an aircraft based on their true capabilities.

so i won’t call on them, for the dust they moved around,…

I am not finding the primary sources in that right now.
However, TopSight appears to have been tested on Rafale B01 at least.
Its reference in multiple places that I wouldn’t not call secondary. It also appears in the website, which while not an acceptable source per gaijin’s standard, has been pretty much on point in most if not every information they shared

It would have worse loadout across the board. No IRST either. Radar would be better, FM would be better. I’d take the 5F over the rafale any day of the week in game

It does in game, hence why a F1 would be an actual downgrade

That’s purely my personal opinion here, I understand that not everyone agrees

Nah, F-15EX before F-15A is more fitting

I have the book from Dassault but have the misfortune of working today, I can show it tomorrow

Not exactly, the F-15A is much older than even the Rafale A prototype while the EX is comparable to the late Rafales
