There is a toxic undercurrent between both communities.
It’s funny the Typhoon is now superior in slow speed “dog fighting” The area the Rafale should be superior in.
Yet the high altitude high speed performance the Rafale is superior to Typhoon when it should be inferior.
Gaijin can resolve this issues easilly but choose not to. And I’m going to be honest I see many more nerfs for Typhoon and Rafale as they are both massively superior (in terms of kinematics) to anything else they face
I approved, It should have been like this since the beginning, but why it have not been applied, idk .
Rafale was already pretty accurate, but indeed if Typhoon can have that magical high altitude speed like Rafale, that would be great.
Honestly, just some opinion, EFT still outaccelerate Rafale in every scenario, however, at reaching Mach 2, for some reason Rafale was better.
Idk, Gaijin feel that it’s already unrealistic for the proposed supercruise speed for Rafale due to how simplified the supersonic coded in War Thunder.
Its not funny its just that the Typhoon its also overperforming.
Not in “every” scenario.
The Rafale blows it out of the water in supersonic acceleration, and the acceleration difference at subsonic speeds seems to be negligeable. Statshark has it passing the EFT around M1.5 ish, but I have doubts about it, seeing as my unspaded Rafale keeps up with my spaded EFT, and still outaccelerates it to M2.0.
Ive never gotten around to testing spaded vs spaded tho cuz I dont really care for playing a blatantly overpowered jet like the Rafale, so I havent spaded it yet. Its just not fun to play.
It does, I have also tried it in a drag race Scenario with my friend and in a usual BVR Loadout, EFT outaccelerate Rafale in any run. In normal battle however, the reason why Rafale can achieve that magical Mach 2 was due to the energy retention still good even after the nerf, EFT turn like a boat, it’s hard to maintain more than Mach 1.3 when turning, while Rafale having no problem with this, and severely limited with its low VnE, which mean, only at super high altitude Rafale will excel.
However, can achieving Mach 2 in a normal match, for me is a double edged sword, because when you can reach this speed, then any pursuit aircraft launching missile at that high altitude, also can easily reach you, so I don’t think this is pretty useful, and I’m more of convinced what makes Rafale good at that high altitude was due to its energy retention, in fact, if Gaijin didn’t buff Rafale top speed, it would be hilariously performing bad.
So, even Rafale can reaching Mach 2 wasn’t a necessary absolute power considering how most Air RB match played out (I don’t want to bring sim here, I don’t play sim, and I only based my argument on my experience on ARB), in fact IMO, it’s pretty much a tradeoff so MICA can be launched further away (but also makes you a hot target due to higher RCS at high speed and high alt). Because, in EFT, even when you launch at Mach 1.3-1.4 at high altitude against a target (let’s just say) 45 KM away, it can still be reached easily thanks to AMRAAM being the jack of all trade, while MICA bleed so much speed due to how stupid the server sync and also still sitting in a way more gimped state than other Fox 3.
Again, this is due to the problem with how simplified supersonic speed coded in War Thunder, I’d understand how Rafale can hilariously still accelerate even after more than Mach 2, my gripe on this is, Gaijin shouldn’t brought this or if they fair, should also buff EFT Supersonic speed (which would be way unrealistic because in common sense, EFT will always beat Rafale in a straight line). That’s why even in the comment, the dev said, “Mach 1.4 was unrealistic, and had to be adjusted to around Mach 1.3 to make it realistic (in game)”. F-18 should not go supersonic with its Dual Rack AMRAAM, and yet, it can thanks to how simplified War Thunder’s Supersonic Code.
I don’t understand how you would be complaining about aircraft that are overpowered, this is literal first world problem. Then what’s supposed to be playing EFT? It’s fun because it’s underpowered?
Its look like we will never get UK eurofighter with AESA radar British-made Typhoon production grinds to a halt raising fears about UK defence skills .
That has nothing to do with them getting an AESA radar
Since it’s been tested I don’t see why it can’t be in game. If it’s been tested it can be added. Maybe it won’t be in service but that shouldn’t matter, I didn’t actually read the article because paywall
This is the worst thing they did to Typhoon essentially made the engines cut out while turning at high speed.
More fear mongering I think, the UK couldn’t expect customers like Turkey to purchase Typhoon while not backing the product themselves.
Buying F-35A would be a massive mistake.
Havent been playing the EFT much either, though a lot of that is cuz of all thr VR specific bugs. Occaisionally been taking it out in GFRB thats about it.
i think a lot of 4th gens need a nerf , they perform like tvc jets at low speeds without tvc.
They, do but they should still comfortably beat anything currently in game.
Typhoon and Rafale and Gripen
Have in mock dogfights beaten everything.
From F-22s (We know the Rafale footage and that F-22 pilot was trying hard)
Su-30MkII
F-15s
F/A-18
F-16s
They dine at the top table so while they may feel like they have TVC and are UFOs in game terms they are or were where they needed to be. And if you keep nerfing them then you need to also nerf the F-16, 25, 27 etc.
First of all they can absolutely sit on their engines, which is one of the main aspect of why they are so dominant in WT. they can sit inside most other jets turn circle and outstall them.
Second, the canards for the EFT are designed for post stall performance to compete with TVC with a lower overall cost, so that’s not surprising.
As for the Gripen and Rafale, they are used to increase lift at very low speed. The rafale for example has demonstrated the ability to remain controlled at sub 40kn and extreme AOA, meaning they still had sufficient airflow on the control surfaces…
However unlike TVC planes (and those with actually great TWR, like the f22 or later SU variants), they don’t have the ability to get instant turn from basically standstill, and it’s the case in game.
The su30sm still has insane post stall maneuverability, despite having much worse TWR.
Agree, I do feel EFT have worser energy retention than Rafale. But my point still stands regarding the acceleration, EFT indeed still outaccelerate Rafale in every scenario, HOWEVER, due to how aggressive the enemy spamming AMRAAM to you, a good FM in defensive flight would be great, which something that EFT doesn’t have.
EFT should’ve also had those magical Mach 2 top speed like Rafale, yeah indeed it makes the game way worser because we had a F-15E situation again, but this time is actually for real due to how well Typhoon gain a speed at altitude.
Idk, my hopium is when the AESA Typhoon came, maybe they would indeed fix the FM. But idk when that time would come, either next 2 minor update before the winter, or worse, in winter update. Since we also still don’t have Gripen E and some other 14.0 Aircraft for like China and Japan.
EFT isn’t all that bad if it weren’t for either that boat turning, or the CAPTOR Fish Radar.
There’s also a whole host of just little things that they don’t seem to want to fix and all of them are just… Annoying.
Also the other big one which Thankfully doesn’t affect me, but the aircraft is basically unplayable if you have VR.
That its totally a lie. Long arm canards are not for post stall. People should stop lying about the Eurofighter like some people are doing with the RAFALE. The AMK was develop exactly because the plane has problem with that kind of maneuvers. The vortex generate by the canards on Eurofighter its busting before it even touch the wing.
Those Canards and intake arrangement were designed with future TVC in mind. He’s not wrong.
