As of yet no AMRAAMs, Gripen will also only get Aim 9s, which means Fox 3s probably in a year or so

man that wont be a good experience. only AIM-9Ls(it never had 9Ms) in this meta…

I looked back through my source for the PIRATE IRST, it would also seem that the EF can target with its IRST for air to ground missions, leaving the central pylon free for fuel and the rest for ordinance. Also I believe Brimstone can be radar queued rather than queued by the pod. It also further confirms that the EF can use the DASS system to identify and track targets around it passively.

FLIR PIRATE can also be used as an IRST (Infrared Search and Track) in air-to-air operations and also as a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) in air-to-ground operations. It is housed in a circular pod to the left of the cockpit in the nose of the machine [aircraft].

This probably isn’t new information but someone might be interested, at the very least it provides a reputable source.

pretty sure PIRATE isnt part of the DASS suite

Brimstone being queueable by radar and IRST is pretty normal as both can provide you a GPS coordinate though the tpod will likely be more accurate

It isn’t just about PIRATE, it breaks down all the sub systems.

Other bit though yeah i expected as much.

Funny thing is, we Germans probably now also go with the mk.2 because the procurement for the Mk.1 takes way too long XD

They said that the radar will be “able to locate and deny use of an adversary’s radar with a powerful electronic jamming attack, whilst staying beyond the reach of threats.”

They are for RAF jets only afaik.

I bet they’re very interested to see how that performs vs F-22’s and F-35’s during the next Red Flag

No chance they’d show their cards with something like that at red flag. The UK has its own F-35B fleet which they will be able to test it on though, and the F-35 is going to have more modern avionics and sensors than the F-22.

Like HMD im pretty sure the f22 doesn’t have one i can’t remember why

Yes that seems to be the case the F22 from whatever reason doesn’t have a HMD.

The helmet would not fit into the cockpit.

Which unfortunately means the F22 will be 12.3 when added

Maximum pylon loads for Eurofighter. This document is from during development, so they may have been improved later:

those weight restrictions just seem wrong lol

How so? Not really compared them to any other information yet, but they looked roughly in the right ballpark to me.
